To everyone on DP...thanks for helping me exercise my brain! You guys are great!

Flippin going to a damn buffet and I'm not happy about it.

Makin' a pilgrimage to my son's wife's folks -- a big feast of the usual, plus spaghetti, meatballs and ravioli, 'cause their Italian, and Chris C. was here first.

We'll also be savoring a glass or two of a vintage red, though I don't know exactly who the vintner will be -- probably an older neighbor, like last year.

Happy Gobble Warming!

I love the usual stuff this holiday.

Turkey, mashers, green bean casserole, homemade pumpkin pie, potato rolls, cranberry sauce from a can that you slice :)

The usual Thanksgiving fare.

Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries, olives, creamed corn, buttered biscuits/rolls, pumpkin pie, wine, and football.

-White & Wheat Rolls

*-Family brought, the rest I made.

I had a bit of cornish hen and gave the dogs the rest. Hubby had fillet mignon. I cooked my yummy sweet mashed potatoes with marshmellows on top, and my patatoe salad as well.

No fuss. No muss.

I cooked all day yesterday. By the time I was done, I was exhausted. I told Tom it's a good thing I only had to reheat today. If I'da had to cook today and entertain, I'd've sent them home when that rang the doorbell. Ha!

All that cooking! 45 minutes at the table. Within 1-1/4 hours, everybody was close to napping on the couch. Next year? Buying dinner out.

No fuss. No muss.

;)

Smoked turkey - turned out beautiful and very tender!

Key lime pie
sweet potato pie
custard
strawberry delight (a fruit salad with strawberries, pears and pomegranate - fab as a topping for the custard)
stuffing
baked sweet potatoes with marshmallows.
jellied cranberry sauce
honey-butter rolls

The kids also pick their own favorite side dishes:
dirty rice (Son I)
super sweet corn (Son II)
burgundy beans (Daughter)
Mac and Cheese (Son III)

I love how we just call it "stuffing".

I thought Chris C thought he found China or some damn thing..? If that is the case, shouldnt you be eating chinese food for Thanksgiving? :)

Yeah, it was something like he was looking for a shortcut to India to expedite trade.

Regardless, my fortune cookie say "you will not eat again for 48 hour", as I'm now stuffed more than the turkey was!
