So it's time to recognize the Russian ownership of CRIMEA (1 Viewer)

Z is refusing any territory negotiations. That's a non-starter. He is losing the territory. He has to compromise or this is done for the USA
The US has already walked away and got showed up by Russia who chose not to blink or be willing to do anything but hold their line. Good job at "projecting strength".

You added this text to your quote of the article. Makes the rest of your comments not worth checking out. You made it appear to be part of the CNN article.

"in reality returned to legitimate owner"
YEs I added this text to point out where the CNN lies. My additions are clearly seen and could not be confused with the source text.

Is 'Crimea' Russian for 'Sudetenland'?

Yes. And it is also Russian for 'Kosovo'. Kosovo was the amputation of Serbia just as Sudetenland was the amputation of Czechoslovakia. In Serbia Nato/Eu also played it from Hitler's playbook. That play did not originate with Hitler even. History is replete with that play.

What a crock. Worst attempt to justify unjustifiable aggression I've seen in a long time.
Russia is engaged on an illegal military adventure and it has turned into a miserable failure. They could overrun Ukraine tomorrow and it would still have been a miserable failure
Every week Ukraine continues to resist is a victory.

If it's a miserable failure Zelensky should tell Trump to take a hike

In your opinion. Your method is not how it is typically done.
Brackets....

It's been over three years. Do you think the Russian invasion hasn't been a failure?
Like I said, if Russia overruns Ukraine tomorrow this will all still have been a failure. A terrible blunder.

The war is still ongoing. If it's a failure as you say, then Ukraine should shortly overrun Russia. Zelensky in that case has to tell Trump to take a hike

Russia invaded Ukraine over three years ago. They sure as hell weren't anticipating fighting a years-long war. Anyone who says this is anything but a failure for Russia is blindly supporting an ineffective bully.
Russia might still win but it'll never become a success for them. Ukraine, on the other hand, has had a shining successful resistance.
Nobody in the world will ever again respect Russia's military capability. Their days of being considered a world power are over.

projecting strength?? you mean like enormous war funding, "blank checks" and "whatever it takes"?
Ukr is simply losing the war -why Russia doesn't want peace.. Z on the other hand "doesn't have the cards" except to keep losing

...or whatever "projecting strength" means to the current administration since they seem to like that idea against nations with less leverage. Against nations with leverage this administration folds like a cheap suit.

Russia has shown no interest in peace that is outside of their terms. Isn't this "art of the deal" supposed to get around that?
:)

no idea what you mean, other then using the size of one's economy as lev3rage

You can lead a Russian to a vodka bottle but you cant make him drink. Putin is out for territorial gains, and is getting it - not all of it but enough he would be foolish to stop short of a truce in place. Z s just getting smaller, and stamping his feet he won't give up lost territory
Russian sanctions dont do a thing in terms of the war -not much else can be done

That is not true. Ironically, it is Russia that refuses to negotiate territory.

If he isn't stopped, he will just keep going.

Perpetual war, which you guys used to complain about, but not so much anymore.

Nope. Ukraine didn't join the USSR as a separate country, it simply never existed as a separate country.
The so called "Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic" is an internal administrative unit of the USSR, it is totally internal business of the USSR.
Russia is just another, new name of the USSR.
So it is entitled to the entire territory of the USSR.

It was actually a country before Russia was.

What negotiations do you expect from Russia ? To run away from Donbass and Crimea ?
And then Z. will generously order to withdraw troops from Kursk ? For a time being of course, temporarily....

I don't expect any. It can't be trusted to hold to them anyway.

I want it defeated.

Nope. It's the same country, just called differently. Neither Eltsin nor Kravchuk or any other immoral moron and despicable thug has right and power to create new countries.
Stop this nonsense about the "creation of Russia". Russia was always Russia for more then a thousand years already, no matter how it was called: Kievskaya Rus', Russian Empire, Moscovia, USSR or Russian Federation.

Map of Russia over the centuries. I would be OK with Russia going back to what it was in the 1500s- that's the little dark green area:

And I would be OK if US returns ALASKA back to Russia.
MOst of these areas voluntarily joined Russia in seek /of protection from enemies.
You're the one who says they want things to go back to what it was a thousand years ago. Change your mind now?
