You can be assured gas prices will rise but by how much, who knows? This is donald's secret plan to cut prices in half. Uncertainty in the markets is not good for investors or consumers.

No new wars is what he told us.

Depends if Iran decides to shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

How much will gasoline prices go up?

My guess is very little. If any at all.

Iran produces about 4% of the world supply. Believe most of that goes east to India and China.

Suppose we will find out pretty soon, eh...?

..

As for attempted blocking the Straits of Hormuz, that would be sort of silly.

They would get a moment of glory followed by some severe repercussions.

Not a lot of upside for Iran.

..

They won't go up. Donald Trump promised prices for energy would be cut in half by his first 12 months of his new term!

Cut by half!

The same gas I paid $2.97 for last week is now $3.15 per gallon and I've seen it as high as $3.69 per gallon, over 4 dollars for diesel. Thanks republicans.

Iran does not own the straights.

Day 1. The war will end. Such a peacemaker.

You are completely disregarding the effects of speculation in the markets. Today gas buddy says 3.12 in my area, how about where you live?

They share territorial waters with Oman. No international waters in the Strait of Hormuz, just Iran and Oman. They could lay claim to their waters, but will likely not do so because they would likewise be adversely affected by restrictions in shipping.

So it's not just me. One day it's 2.87 the next day 3.20 but it certainly has not been cut in half.

They have the capacity to close it.
If this was peacetime, I'd agree.

But it is not, and Qatar and Bahrain will be more than happy to holler if Iran's navy attempts to leave port.

And the Iranian air force is closed for business.

If I was a US citizen I would be glowing with pride today at the sunning success of the US military, mot moaning and groaning, whining and sniveling about the price of gas. Iran proved to be a mangy paper tiger, defeated with not a single US casualty.

They can attack from land, that strait is extremely narrow. You'd have to flatten basically all of Iran to prevent this.
