So do you wash your pillows?

Not your pillowcases, but the actual pillows? Mine are really yellow and there's some weird tint that isn't just yellow any more. Or I can't see right. But, they are yellow for sure. Do you guys wash the pillows? You suppose to? I've owned them for 10 years and not once have I washed them.

Time for a change. I've washed them. Read the care tag on the pillow if still there. But, 10 years, you need new ones.

I've tried washing pillows but the results aren't great. They take forever to dry and just aren't the same.

As others have mentioned time for new. Get pillow protectors and clean those when you launder your pillow cases.

MyPillow has some nice discounts, promo code 'crackhead'.

Couldn’t decide between the “Eric” and the “Don Jr” models, so I got one of each.

Yes, I have washed my pillows. I have Coop Home Goods and they recommend washing to fluff them up again.

I do, but there's a certain way you do it. It depends on the filling. You should wash it every 6 months ideally.

No. Pillows are cheap. Throw them out and buy new ones once or twice a year.

10 years?!? Do you stash your money in them or...

Yes you can wash pillows. They should be washed once a year unless you use pillow covers (not the same as a pillow case)

Front load washers are better for washing them, and I advise doing the spin cycle twice. You can dry them on low heat or air dry them if you have the patience. Do not wash them with anyone else. Just do 1-2 pillows max.

Speaking of MyPillow, we bought some before the guy went out of favor. I do wash them and they are still as good as new.
We also still have some down pillows from ages ago. I wipe them with vinegar water on a regular basis and dry them on sunny days with low humidity. They are still in perfect shape, at least 20 years and counting.

How can you sleep at night knowing those are pillows boughten from someone "out of favor"?

So don't pack the Don Jr model when you travel unless you want unfortunate attention from TSA drug sniffing dogs.

The Eric model is mostly fluff.

That's the same kind of pillows we use, and I also wash them (about once a year). They come out great.

I buy ours at Costco, two in a pack for around $30.
They're cheap considering the cost of down pillows.
The Coop pillows Queen Margo mentioned are about $80 each, so kind of pricey. But really comfortable IMO.

I also sometimes prefer a down pillow and Parachute makes a nice down one, but those are a little over $100 each. They wash well too. I like the combo of having one of each choice handy (Coop and down).

But with either kind, you need to dry them on low heat for a really long time (about 3 cycles). They might feel dry on the outside, but it takes a lot longer for the inside to get thoroughly dry.

I also like nice sheets and the good ones seem to last a really long time, so I find they are worth the money.
