Snow Storm Coming

"Snow Storm Coming"
It's already here. Not so much snow as bitterly cold outside, 16F here. Brrr!
No plans at all of leaving the house for anything which can be avoided. :)

Same here 16 degrees and the wind is howling.
Just some snow flurries right now for us.

Saw some news from Kansas city area yesterday evening. Ice storm came and created a major mess. The streets glazed over. Airport was closed for a few hours and the KC football team was delayed flying out. They did get out and made it to Denver.
Something like over 100 accidents/cars off the road in the ditch. No plans to go any where till this storm moves well away.

We got about four or five inches since Friday. Now it's cold as hell. Sitting at 14 right now. Gotta get the trash out tonight, which sounds simple but, the can has to go out about a quarter mile down the road. Country livin'.

I went for my morning bike ride about 08:00. 😘
.

Lows in the 30's ( but not freezing) in Orlando this week..I cant handle this crap. space heaters and blankets to get thru the nights

As long as the power stays on. Weather that knocks out the power sucks.
We are fortunate, as we have a whole house natural gas generator. :)
I'd have made it work with a gasoline generator, but my wife overruled.
Now, I'm not upset at all at this, because, if power would go out now, we'd be hurting, and should the pipes have frozen and burst, it'd sure have been a mess.
All this avoided.

Brother's in east Texas, ex coworker and good friend is in Chicago. Brother is bracing for a week of temps that don't get above 35, friend has been dealing with temps below 20 for awhile now.

No thank you. ;)

It's cold on the Front Range, but not as cold as in the mountains. We've had light snow twice since New Year's Eve, but not as much as in the mountains. It'll be cold all week and more snow on Tuesday.

Pretty much normal Colorado weather.

Gonna be 68 here. Still too warm for January.

It is hitting us right now. It started last night at 10:30 for us and has been off and on with more intense snow. Right now, I'd say that we have a good 3 inches. In my small town, we are supposed to get 7 to 9 inches but we have the possibility of getting more than 12. Our highs for the next week are in the teens and the lows are single digits. I have the snow blower ready to go but I am waiting for a little more accumulation before I get all dressed up to get after it. This will be the largest snow accumulation for our area in one storm since 1982. We received right at 2 feet of snow during that storm.

Used to use a 5500 watt gas genny on wheels with an outside transfer switch box wired to run essentials of well water pump, furnace and fridge with a couple of light circuits.
Same thing happened in our house with dear wife watching me rolling that thing out of the shop to get it plugged in to transfer box, then coaxing it to life, being more than she was willing to let me handle at my septuagenarian age.
Since we were already hooked up with natural gas, she put her foot down and had a 20k Generac installed.
"Evil" fun bit is standing in the living room window fully visible to neighbours with coffee mug in hand and house all lit up while they're out there in terrible weather struggling to get their gennies hooked up and running ext. cords all over the place. 😆 I get one of those wifely side-eyes every time I do that. 🤨

Hollow post. When, where ?

You never said.
I was too busy shoveling my driveway and sidewalk.

It’s hitting parts of the Midwest; Missouri, through Illinois, into Indiana. Where I live in indiana, we don’t get a lot of snow. We talk about it a hell of a lot. It’s been pure pandemonium on the local TV stations.
