Sinema leaving the Democratic Party and registering as an independent

I didn't support Nader. Try again. And I would say center-right Democratic politics gave you George Bush.
Yes you do support Nader. Stop lying.
Sinema helps to pass legislation.
All your regressive left does is pass gas.

This is NOT a shock. She's more about attention whoring than governing. I suspect she'll still vote with the Dems on judicial appointments which is all they need her for.
I thought you were better than this.
See her work with Tillis on immigration.

I wasn't even into politics in 2000. I came into politics after the Iraq invasion. Go back to watching CNN and MSM, where you get your corporate opinions.

In the US we vote for candidates and not parties. Our system is structured this way on purpose. The party apparatus does not own a seat.

This reminds me of a long ago episode in politics where Senator Henry M “Scoop” Jackson of Washington (a democrat who was very conservative) died in office in the 1980s and Governor John Spellman appointed Republican Dan Evans to take his seat, and the Democrats were screeching and whining that “the seat was stolen” well no, it’s not. Because parties don’t own seats in this country.
Yeah, that’s not how it works.

There are other Independents in Congress, and they USUALLY vote D, not R. But the R's are gonna have an orgasm over this story, sheesh!
I agree. People have gone "I" before during their term. Angus King and Bernie are both Independents and vote with the Dems about 100 percent of the time.

The Independents officially have a hottie!
Angus and Bernie are the bread of the sammich.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder……..

More moronic, childish noise from the regressive justice democrat.

Funny watching @Linc twisting himself into a pretzel to pin Republican shit on me, when he's actively blocking for Republicans in this very thread.

There are very fine people on both sides, Linc.

The parties themselves don't give the constituents a say, with how much of the system is rigged in their favor. Why do you think we constantly get two bad choices? That aside, the Party is a private organization and the office is public, and they should not mix. If anything, when you run for or hold public office you should be required to remove yourself from any particular political party.

When you weaken parties you end up with politicians like Donald Trump.

When we we ever learn.

Sorry to disappoint you.
You should be glad she’s working on immigration with Republicans since you say you’re a GOP and you say you’re from Texas.

We still have the bernie regressives here.

Why do special interests (specifically corporate interests) get the ear of politicians moreso than their constituents? Which party is doing the rigging?

Thank goodness "society is changing" and becoming more racial and ethnically diverse... because "some white people, flip flop too much".
No one has ever seen black or brown people do such "flip flops" in the political system.

One other point that I'm sure many see whether they admit it or not, Black and Brown People in Politics and Truly Liberal White People, keep their focus on " political policy Issues" that are relevant to improve America "for all people".
Even during the long history of slavery, Black people, Brown People and Native American People, and Truly Liberal White People, have always pushed forward for "Equality within ALL Civic and Civil, Social and Economic Matters.

Time will tell more of what Sinema is, we know in many ways she wants "power' and we know she "backs the wealthy industrialist".... Even if she sides with Republicans, there is still the VP who has the tie breaking vote.

We already know Right Winger's stand for nothing but White Nationalist Agenda, and their want is to continue the Barbarism and Savagery as Land Pirates who want to be Authortarian Dictators!!!!

She wants to stave off a primary challenge.
Ah! Good point! She ran as "progressive" then "bait and switched" her voters. She has two years to build a coalition for her reelection, now. Best of luck to her!

I think the concern would be if she decides to flip to Republican. That'll will force the Dems to again share leadership with the Republicans.
Exactly. Which is why in that power sharing agreement she would be relegated to a voting paperweight.

I am from Texas. I am more of an independent now, since the GOP became a white supremacist grievance party. Any immigration plan "she's working on with Tillis" will have to pass muster in the Dem majority Senate. So, that will be the "backstop" for any plan too draconian.

She wants to stave off a primary challenge.
I doubt that she would split the Dem vote in Arizona too much. Mark Kelly is the other Senator from that State and he doesn't do any of the nonsense that Sinema does.
