I can't say I agree with him fully, although, there is something in the air concerning progressives that is disconcerting to say the least...The outright hate for those who have made lots of money, rooted in mostly jealous rage could boil over, but I don't think we are there now...What he says is spot on though.
why? they have no legal power, no special privilages over you, so maybe some bad street crime. no mugger can take near as much away from you as the bankers can, and they can do it legally.
Why not donate their wealth, become poor, and no longer be a "target" for criticism?
Would even a Jesus the Christ complain.
Some on the right claim they feel safer with less Government.
Powerful governments have historically created a great deal of problems for their citizenry, though many leftists feel that a big brother type of government might alleviate some of the bothersome details of living an independent life.
And weak governments allow powerful individuals in society to trample all over the populace as well, see Somalia and the warlords.
No one is advocating a government with unlimited power.
BALANCE is key.
Donate their wealth to whom? What happens should they work and regain that wealth? Would they have to re-donate it? This idea of taking away others peoples honestly earned money raises a lot of questions.

You may be right but I still feel safer in a bank then walking through a low income neighborhood at 2am.
It took me 30 years of hard work to go from less than zero to very comfortable. Thats 30 years of hard work, overtime, 2-3 jobs, and finding a way to fit in graduate school along the way. Hell...I have more living room in the loft of my barn today than my first apartment had. What...you expect someone to hand you not just a stepladder but a gold plated escalator to the penthouse?Just climb the ladder (posted by Disputatious in the political cartoon thread)

Life is no different today than yesterday. Millions of illegal immigrants come here today with nothing and start their own businesses. Every year we add thousands to the ranks of the millionaire club.
It wasnt exactly a picnic 30 years ago. Just sayin.Good for you.
You've always had to climb that ladder for yourself. It never was an escalator.
But, it seems to me that the ladder into a middle class lifestyle is a lot harder to climb than it used to be.

That's because the banks don't conk you on the head or put a gun in your face before taking your money. It's all nice and safe and peaceful.

I believe we should merely goad the wealthiest into insisting their public servants simply purchase the finest solutions money can buy, with an official Mint at their disposal, under our form of Capitalism.
It used to be people got college degrees in fields that left them employable and didnt spend 6 years getting an Art History Liberal Arts degree. No, probably not. I started the climb closer to 50 years ago, and it still wasn't easy. I think it was easier than than it was later, and even easier than it is today.
Those middle class jobs are hard to find now. It used to be that a college degree meant something besides an ocean of student loan debt.
I am working on my political satire and comedy jokes.

Go out and make your own money, get your own stuff.
