Your culture, maybe.More than just to the bank. John Wayne became a cultural icon. The Marine Corps even had a method of shooting the M-16 that they labeled the "John Wayne" method. It involved holding the firearm against your hip with your trigger hand, and your other hand holding the top of the hand guard, while you fire on full automatic. They had to alter that method when the M-16A2 came out because of its 3-round burst capabilities, but the "John Wayne" method was the preferred method for firing fully automatic while moving with the M-16A1.

Side note: John Wayne was a pu$$y. He went out of his way to not serve in the military and it’s widely known that his tough guy act was just that; an act.

Because of the COVID tragedy, the activists cooled it a bit, but they will probably soon resume their campaign to rename that airport and they will succeed.
