I wouldn’t reopen until Texas and Missouri undo their apartheid gerrymandered maps, along with several others like North Carolina. This is why the dems should block the CR indefinitely.

Let’s ‘claw back’ the trillions they’ve given to their campaign donors, as well as ‘keep’ why they’re on strike.
China did that twice. They didn't trust Beijing soldiers to use the necessary force during the Tiananmen Square and subsequent university protests so they brought in non-local soldiers. The USSR did the same thing.
You use troops from one region to suppress other regions, because they have no local loyalties.
Bottom line: the majority blaming the republicans. Some polling has been posted up thread. This is the most recent shutdown polling I've seen, released today and from 10/1-10/2 polling period (Harvard Harris). Six specific questions were asked.

That was a slap in the face to them, wasn’t it.Farmers say keep it closed, after the Argentina sellout.

Gotta love a Dem who takes 6 specific questions from the same poll on the same topic and feels completely comfortable cherry picking the only one of the 6 which slightly favors her bias/wishes while ignoring all the other 5, which do nothing to favor or support her bias (in fact, do the opposite). How intellectually honest, conversation worthy, and useful for a politcal forum.Bottom line: the majority blaming the republicans.
Keep it closed.
Look at your own chart. MAGA Supporters don't realize that Democrats are fighting for their benefits.
Republicans can message and shift opinion because they fundamentally believe in their arguments and tactics. Democrats largely can't, don't, and won't fight for principles. The goal of Democratic Leadership is to find a middle ground position between the center and the right-wing. In this battle, the end goal of Democrats tactics would actually benefit Republicans electorally.
Gotta love how you decided to only include screenshots of the polls and not a link to the entirety of the poll data - as though you weren’t trying to supoort bias.Gotta love a Dem who takes 6 specific questions from the same poll on the same topic and feels completely comfortable cherry picking the only one of the 6 which slightly favors her bias/wishes while ignoring all the other 5, which do nothing to favor or support her bias (in fact, do the opposite). Particularly interesting given that the Harvard/ Harris polls tend to have a slight right bias. Not so much because of their results but rather their tendency to use leading language. For example they say in one chart the Republicans are being being blamed by a "slim" majority. ...6 % points is not that " slim ".The blame is on the Republicans and Trump.
That’s the bottom line.
Are you claiming the change the Democrats want is to give illegals healthcare?
I'm more than happy to post a link to the whole poll here. I posted every question in the "Government Shutdown" section, thus specific to this thread. Notice I didn't deliberately leave out the only question you addressed, the one which favored your bias and not mine. I am actually a fan of full context, BirdinHand.Gotta love how you decided to only include screenshots of the polls and not a link to the entirety of the poll data - as though you weren’t trying to supoort bias.

Deal with it.
No.
The Republicans put in that all Federal paid healthcare for illegals shall end. Well there is no federal paid healthcare for illegals.
It's a booby trap for the Dems. If Schumer pushes it through, the PROGs will claim he denied healthcare to immigrants. That's why he's not moving on it.
The best thing the Dems could do is come right out and say that in the interest of opening the government the ONLY issue on the table is the ACA subsidies and not any change to the BBB.No.

Although I heard that given the polling on the ACA subsidies Republicans are starting to get nervous about the impacts.. Seems TX. FL, SC and GA along with CA have the largest numbers of those benefiting from the subsidies.Bloomberg has an article that was able to read through MSN suggesting there's movement behind the scenes. Focus for Republicans is to convince 5 more Dem Senators to join the 3 Senators to get the vote on CR.
Oops.Seems TX. FL, SC and GA along with CA have the largest numbers of those benefiting from the subsidies.
TAX THE RICH.
Step 1.
Instead of decades of giving tax cuts to the rich and their corporations - increase their tax rates.
The middle class was the strongest in this country when the tax rates were higher on the richest and corporations.
/sarcasmIf the democrats get the changes they want, the taxpayers will be on the hook for an additional 1.5 trillion dollars to provide subsidies to ACA and other care to yes, some illegals through hospital emergency room care, and addition cost of some illegals who have been granted TEMPORARY legal status. At some point we need to go to a balances budget amendment. We simply can't take care of everybody who finds their way into this country, those who live in other countries and our citizens.
