When Vladimir Putin steps out of whatever vehicle brings him to the military base in Anchorage AK, should 'Mr. Law and Order' have Putin arrested?

A warrant for Mr. Putin has been issued by the ICC for war crimes.

USA is not a memberof the ICC so is not compelled to arrest him (unfortunately)

No. That would be incredibly stupid.

Do you think Putin likely committed war crimes?
Ideally one day in the world, war itself will be classified as a crime. What a primitive, barbaric institution and way of managing disputes.

I am hoping it will become as much of an historical oddity as the practice of cannibalism and the institution of slavery.

Putin deserves to spend the rest of his days getting waterboarded at Guantanamo, but practically speaking arresting him would not be a wise decision, unless the USA is 300% confident they can control who will succeed him. I've seen no evidence of that.

But he still could have him arrested.

"Crime knows no borders. The work of the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Program is an essential part of enhancing U.S. and partner ability to effectively confront transnational criminal threats. INL sponsors, funds, and administers the ILEA Program, in partnership with host governments and seventeen federal law enforcement partners. The ILEAs advance anti-crime efforts by building the capacity of foreign criminal justice partners of the United States and connecting these partners to one another and to U.S. law enforcement to address shared threats. The ILEAs’ mission is to also buttress democratic governance through the rule of law; enhance the functioning of free markets through improved legislation and law enforcement; and increase social, political, and economic stability by combating narcotics trafficking and crime."

It’d be awfully hypocritical of the U.S., given A) wanted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu is hailed as a hero whenever he visits and B) the U.S. has a standing law on the books authorizing the president to take “whatever means necessary” to free American war criminals should they be captured by The Hague.

It’s also an objectively bad idea from the start.

Hmmm, wouldn't freeing American war criminals however necessary be just as risky as arresting Putin or Netanyahu?

No, because it wouldn’t be risking nuclear war.

It does, however, demonstrate the utter hypocrisy of the U.S.

That's a really stupid question.

MAGA lacks the courage to arrest Putin. Oh, they don't mind running over people weaker than them and see it as a sign of strength, but they lack the moral fortitude, obviously, to stand for justice.

It’s not “courage” to do something that’s objectively a terrible idea.

An actual “stand for justice” would be prosecuting all those American war criminals responsible for things like the torture program

✔️
Good to know that you believe that Putin likely committed war crimes.

Deflection.
Nope, pointing out the reality as to why the idea of trying to arrest Putin is an idiotic one.

But good to know you don’t actually give a shit about war crimes.

This is coming from a guy arguing for more people to be indicted. lol.

The law doesn't weigh terrible and good ideas.

Here's a clue: the guilty always think its a bad idea. :D
