I think the question hinges on Trump's exposure in those files, so it is moot. There is zero reason to suspect he will release anything that incriminates him in any way. If, on the other hand, it incriminated any of his political enemies, it's safe to say it would have already been released - unless he can use it for blackmail and extortion. We all know how much Trump loves extortion.

I think those of us with our eyes open know Trump pretty well. Any and every reason to not release the files remains in play. It's Schrodinger's file.

1. the files won't prove much even if they are released because they will be redacted to support a partisan agenda.
2. too few people on this forum will actually read the files for actual evidence of knowledge or involvement. They will all settle for guilt by association claims. If Trump was anywhere near Epstein at any point of time, he will share 'guilt' with everyone else who happened to be within a 5 mile radius of Epstein, his jet, his island etc.

They can’t do that, they don’t have control over the files right now (all they control at the moment is the secrecy stamp). If they succeed in gaining control of the documents themselves, they will sort out everything about Trump and pretend it never existed. The problem is that other prosecutorial offices besides SDNY may have copies lying around, so it won’t be entirely easy. But until they have control of SDNY, the files will likely remain untouched and sealed.
