Conservative ideology is hierarchical. It's not egalitarian.

It's hard to imagine anything more wrong than that statement.

It is rarely a good idea to speak of things that you do not understand in front of those who do.

There is a need to establish hierarchy and dominance over others. I don't think it's necessarily something people are conscious of, and I'm not saying that there isn't a pecking order in the liberal universe - there is, but it manifests itself differently (subject of another thread). I think conservatives view liberals like disobedient dogs who shat on their carpet and need to be swatted and need to have their noses rubbed in shit. We tried to create a world in which we rejected or at least modified their social and cultural norms and conventions by making safe spaces for LGBTQ, trying to undo decades and centuries of harm inflicted upon minorities, encouraging women to be financially and otherwise independent from men.

Nah, I'm pretty sure I've heard conservatives talk about equal opportunity, not equality, and that they're about guaranteeing opportunity but not the result, which actually seems like a square deal on the surface (Wait, did I just use the phrase "square deal"? What is this...1904?). What conservatives fail to acknowledge is that the state doesn't have a monopoly on oppression; private power and local power can be oppressive, too (see Jim Crow and The Gilded Age).
