REPEAL the pig... (y) 🇺🇸

If Jimmy Madison and the boyz came back to life they would no doubt be SHOCKED and APPALLED at the scale of gun violence in this country...

The letter Q is not in that sentence, so you are still confusing me.

PV -- there is no Q in the word POE.
I always thought if we treated firearms like we did alcohol many years ago (except for military and cops, of course), with the technology and government programs to better enforce it, nobody would need a gun because neither person could be armed.

I'm confused. Are you talking about Prohibition?
People get into shootouts. I figured, "if the other guy does not have a gun, why should you?"

Your premise is that the other guy wouldn't have a gun. Your premise is naïve.
This logic comes from cases like George Zimmerman. Trayvon Martin was just walking home from a candy store and obviously unarmed. Why did a guy like Zimmerman need to shoot a kid only carrying chocolate?

Because Martin attacked him.
And what about Michael Robinson, who could not have been armed either?

You mean Michael Brown? The guy who attacked an officer, tried to grab his gun and then came rushing at him at full force grunting like an animal?

Or Asuad Arbery - what if the McMichaels did not have a gun? It is ridiculous how many unarmed innocent people are shot by guys who did not need guns wherever the murder happened.

Ahmaud*

That's the only case you presented where the shooter was guilty.

I believe Jimmy would want very much to deliver a stiff right hook to the cheekbones of filthy nra leadership... (y)
yeah and then take RuPaul to bed as well. If you are going to make shit up, let's at least be creative.

And how did Prohibition go?

Very badly, but that was a different era. Nobody needed to have a passport to smuggle wine or beer across national borders and declare international purchases at U.S. airports. Cans and bottles could easily be hidden and were not scanned through x-ray machines at airports either. Why not? Because none of those things existed at the time. All they needed were horses. Now, it is nearly impossible to bring guns into the United States and even if that happens, the guns will be confiscated immediately. So, the only problem is bad people know how to make them here. That is a good thing for the military and police departments, just not civilians with no good reason to make guns.

So how would a constitutional amendment banning the production and distribution of firearms work exactly?

Forced closure of all gun shops, a federal gun buyback program, and destroying guns that they find during search warrants in criminal cases.

And how should the government get all of the criminals to turn in their firearms? How do they make sure they have them all? Since the woman with the violent ex can't have a firearm anymore, but her ex doesn't follow laws, she's probably going to be killed. Right?

What if some people don't want to give up their guns? What should the punishment be? What about the problem with over-population of animals that hunters help take care of during shotgun season?

I never said it would be perfect. Nothing is. But as long as armed people shoot unarmed people who did nothing to them, there must be a way to make sure none of them are physically capable of acquiring guns.

when someone says something this stupid, we have to question if they really understand the issue. Millions of illegals come into this country "WITHOUT INSPECTION". how are you going to keep guns out?

how many people would die if that happened?

Bad people don’t make guns.
Cripe. Stupid post.

I agree that people who want to shoot others who did nothing to them shouldn't have guns.

What about the people who just want to hunt? What about the people who enjoy target shooting? What about the woman who wants to protect herself?

Specifically enumerated rights are defined and guaranteed. They supersede state rights. Unenumerated rights are by Constitutional definition are states rights. I highly doubt you advocate for states to be able to restrict birth and marriage rights, yet you advocate specifically FOR the restriction of enumerated rights

Which tells me you dont CARE about any of this and are simply trying to torture the laws and Constitution into your arguments.
Please source the bold.

Here are some examples of unenumerated rights: the right to have consensual sex, the right to have offspring, the right to marry, the right to move to another state.

While no rights are absolute, no state laws can ban those things for individuals without due process.

How do you prevent the bad guys from having guns without giving up the good people's right to hunt and target shoot?
