Some people say that anyone receiving government money should not vote. Some people think it is a conflict of interest.
Should public employees be allowed to vote?
I sometimes ask myself this, and it seems so contrary to how things ought to be that I tend to dismiss it.
The question usually occurs when I encounter some event/story which highlights the potential and/or actual conflict of interest when employees or (in the case of public employee unions) groups of employees can elect their employers.
So I decided to put the question to you all: Should public employees be allowed to vote, and what rational supports your position?
There is a big difference between giving to a politician that supports what you want passed, and that of actually buying a vote.Big money, corporations and foreign money can and do buy politicians but you think public employees who actually do pay taxes should not vote?

People need to get off this corruption kick. It doesn't happen that much.
Are you ****ing kidding me?
No I am not.Are you ****ing kidding me?
It never, ever happens, except that it happens all the time. So, there's just that one exception....
Who said never?

As we are talking about buying votes, I would say you have a warped sense of reality if you think it occurs as often as it seems you are suggesting. There is more corruption than we know, and we know plenty already.
No I am not.
There most definitely is a big difference.
Most legislators agree with what they vote for. Show they don't.
Show they don't agree and only vote for something because they received a donation.
:lamo:lamo:lamo:lamo:lamoI can show you that billions of dollars are spent and received by people who know that money buys votes.
You and your cohort "likers" couldn't be further from the truth. Just because V puts out crazy ****, doesn't speak for the rest of us.
I'm just stunned that anyone could be that un-American and not even seem to realize it.I said whaaaaaa???

Maybe not you, but he speaks for far, far too many.
Attempts to suppress the vote is not at all uncommon in your party and you know it.
If money really bought votes wouldn't we be talking about president Romney right now?I can show you that billions of dollars are spent and received by people who know that money buys votes.
No I don't, I don't know any such thing, and neither do you. Just because you say votes are being suppressed doesn't make it so.
