Should ex-president trump come and testify under oath before the 1/6 committee and just clear this whole mess up and his reputation?

For the sake of his own supporters I think the ex prez should testify and set the history record straight so all of these people lying about him will be exposed. I think both him and pence should testify.

Thoughts?

It would be a sure dilemma. On the one hand, he could claim that the ratings were way up for his testimony, on the other hand...well, him caught lying multiple times or pleading the 5th would not bode well.

I'm all for it. Let's hear his side of the story.

Fat chance!!!!! He like most bullies is a coward at heart and a really bad liar to boot.

A) he is not going to testify
B) If he did he would clear NOTHING UP. it would simply be a circus

Pretty sure the OP knows this and was just being facetious.

But loudmouth Trump keeps whining about how his side does not have fair representation. Well, he could certainly remedy that in a heartbeat. But of course won't.

Zero trump supporters think he should come forward to testify? The silence from the right is deafening.

But how much will he charge for tickets?

Trump absolutely should not testify before the committee. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for him to come forward and casually admit to multiple crimes OR lie to Congress about what happened leading up to January 6th and get charged with that crime...but, as I've said repeatedly, no competent attorney or even a first year law student would let Donald Trump testify on camera before the committee.

But, to the general point being made with this thread, yes, I think we all see how disingenuous Trump supporters are being when they claim Trump is not getting anyone to tell his side of the story, especially since NUMEROUS people who could tell Trump's story are refusing to testify.

It's a trap, Trump would just lie under oath and the Democrats know it

I would love to see it and all you would need to do is ask him a question which hurts his ego and he will lose his cool and say something incriminating.

He would be easy to bait into telling the truth, just ask questions designed to hurt is ego and he will lose his temper.

That...is not a trap. Also, it is a bipartisan committee.
Of course it's a trap, when they ask Trump what his name is he would probably lie about that also, and the Democrats know it

That's not a trap. It's not a trap because a liar chooses to lie.

A "trap" implies that he would be deceived and/or misled by an objectively unfair situation. Asking him to simply tell the truth, even knowing full well that he won't, is quite fair and not inherently deceptive.

I assume you never studied psychology, Trumps a pathological liar he believes his own lies and doesn't know reality. It's understandable most liberals are like that especially women.

As usual, you are wrong. But, as has already been stated, giving someone an opportunity to tell the truth is not a trap if they choose to lie.

Did a liberal woman cheat on you?
