Say this virus starts to overwhelm our health system.

How do we decide who gets the ventilator?

Mark only 3 since we only have 3 ventilators for this group.

Really is difficult to tell...too little information is known about the stage of illness and preexisting conditions.

But it does not look good for the person of advanced age who is a smoker.

My guess is that the billionaire will just buy himself alternative resources.

Only the ones worth saving, according to the single payer healthcare supporters.

How many does Russia have? Maybe they can front Tweety a few.

You can get ventilators for about 5000 $, it is an affordable equipment.

For many corona patients one administration of oxygen is sufficient. I do not know if the American hospitals are well equipped with oxygen connections in the patient rooms.

As a precaution I had already bought an oxygen concentrator on the second-hand market some weeks ago. It was not expensive, about 240 $. An American model of the company Invacare.

So you do not have to go to the hospital immediately and can stay at home for the time being in case of shortness of breath.

Some students at MIT came up with this $100 model.

I don't know if the FDA has to approve it or what. I don't know if it's good enough for someone with the virus.
