So, I'm on the phone, talking to my wife. Suddenly, I hear "Pop pop pop pop..." maybe ten of them. Then a few more "pops" after a little gap, 2-3 seconds maybe.

I tell my wife, "I think I just heard gunshots."
She's like, "No way. It must have been fireworks."
I reply, "Nuh-uh. Those were gun shots."

A few minutes later the sirens begin. Conclusion: definitely gun shots. So, I go outside and see bunches of flashing red and blue lights, at least a dozen cops and several emergency vehicles are across the street. So, I fly down the stairs and head over to the scene. I find out that two people were shot. Something to do with a cab. It's all vague.

Here's the latest on the story.

PD: 2 people shot at CVS parking lot in east Phoenix - Arizona's Family

Oh...the gun control part---this makes one more of many gun incidents happening in my vicinity or to my friends. I am sick of it. Ban guns. Take them and melt them down. And, lock up anyone ever caught running around with one.

Sorry to hear that you had to hear some pop pop pop noises. But if you think that banning guns will make violence, murder, and death go away then you're sadly mistaken. Might make things more silent for ya...provided they don't use bombs...which is illegal and yet is still used by those that want to do harm. But that violence, murder, and death will still be there.

you've been around long enough to know he doesn't even believe that nonsense.

Nope. Your gun rights have infringed on my right not to be around gunshots once too ****ing often.

Yeah, I'm sick and tired of being exposed to gun violence. Imagine that.

Move then. That's the answer I get whenever I mention the many problems my state has.
Why should my rights be infringed just because grown men want to play with guns? Screw that. Ban the son of a bitches.

that's just stupid. its like saying your first amendment rights have infringed on my right not to have to read frantic psychobabbling trolling by a poster who is consistently dishonest about his motivations

did it occur to you during your frantic episodic need to troll gun owners that the persons doing the shooting are most likely facing many years in prison for felonious assault, attempted murder or perhaps murder?

Yeah, I'm sick and tired of being exposed to gun violence. Imagine that.

gun violence is a felony. I hope you don't watch TV

Was it a law abiding gun owner? Or simply another criminal ignoring existing laws?

Have any plans on how to make criminals that ignore existing laws, suddenly begin to obey new laws?

I no longer care about that argument. I've heard to too often to give it any more credibility.

Yes. Lock them up, as I said in the op.

Maybe if you had over a dozen people you knew shot and killed, you'd feel different. I'm sick of it. And, yes. It's the ****ing guns.

Yes. Lock them up, as I said in the op.

yet you want to turn millions of gun owners into criminals by banning all guns-you plan on locking them up yourself

tell us what motivates this frantic trolling? we know you don't even believe this crap you spew

no its the ***** shooters. Why do you have so many friends who have been shot and killed. Most of my friends are competitive shooters, cops, and prosecutors. I don't know over a dozen who have been shot and killed. Going by statistics, the only people who have that many friends killed are those engaged in drug trafficking. I don't believe you are so I am calling BS on your claims

Who knows why? Why is there a multiple-victim shooting outside my fairly expensive hotel in a reasonably safe neighborhood while I am on the phone talking to my wife?

Maybe I'm meant to be a messenger of the gun banning Left. :)

1983 to 1997 I lived in Santa Monica, Culver City and Venice, or more accurately put..during those years I lived there and had business offices there.
Los Angeles Metro in that period was plagued by violence, much of it gang related.
The gangs have not disappeared entirely but their presence these days is nowhere NEAR what it was back then.
In the 80's and 90's the "pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop" stuff you heard right outside your door was a NIGHTLY occurrence HERE:

Westminster & Speedway - Venice CA

and also HERE:

Washington Place - Culver City, CA

And even HERE:

I never got shot.
And I was a coke fiend back then, and I was doing freelance news camera stuff.
That's when I did get shot at, when I was sticking my great big news camera into a story.

why don't you ask the people who probably broke 4-8 state laws and perhaps 1-4 federal ones by doing the shooting that resulted in injury or death to others. I am sure they did it to give you more ammunition to whine about gun owners because you are upset that Trump won the election (or you play such a role in DP)

wonder how this could happen given California has restrictive gun laws for 50+ years

This is the first time people have been shot less than 500 yards from where I am. In fact, I was going to head over to that CVS for some Keurig Cups when my phone rang. So, a slight flip in flukes, and I might have been in the line of fire.

Yes. Lock them up, as I said in the op.

You don't care because your answer is pass more laws that only effect people that follow existing laws. Your second answer "lock them up" ignores that is what happens when criminals ignore current laws.

What will more laws change?

Simple, your NRA buddies made it so millions of guns are now on the street, making them easier to buy than a joint.

Probably not.
The only times I ever had to duck bullets was when I was rolling up to a crash and burn story, or a shooting story, or a fire, or anything that freelance stringer news guys go running to cover, like the 1992 LA Riots. I was shot at there too, two bullets.
One hit the back of my camera and took out the VTR section (2-piece BetaCam camcorder) and the other put a nice hole just behind the driver's seat in my van, and both were definitely random shots not aimed at me, it was just that's what was happening at a GODDAM RIOT, that's all.

Sorry about the quality of the picture but it's a videotape screen grab taken off the air. KABC Channel 7 just happened to roll by and caught me interviewing the National Guard at that moment.
