Former President Donald Trump on Friday mourned the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the first foreign leader to meet Trump following his election in 2016.

In a post on his Truth Social social media platform, Trump said Abe’s death — which came hours after he was shot while giving a speech in the western city of Nara — was “Really BAD NEWS FOR THE WORLD!”

“Few people know what a great man and leader Shinzo Abe was, but history will teach them and be kind,” Trump wrote. “He was a unifier like no other, but above all, he was a man who loved and cherished his magnificent country, Japan. Shinzo Abe will be greatly missed. There will never be another like him.”

You are right, he did know Abe, but you have to realize that his economic policies tended towards the left some. Not the whole sum of Abenomics, but a large part of it involved corporate reform, labor liberalization (a type of unionization) and increased foreign workers into the Japanese workforce. he also forced banks to issue negative short term interest rates to make it easier for both people and businesses to borrow larger sums to invest and spend. Very liberal and some might say...socialist...of him.
