easyt65 said:So the Democrats don't mind if one of their own leaves a woman to die in an overturned car in a water-filled ditch.....they just don't like it when someone brings it up?!
As shocking as Shays' point was, his point that Democrats tolerate crimes/misdeeds/violations within their own ranks yet seek to crucify members of the GOP for theirs was right on the money! I will give you that it was a crude, yet VERY effective way to nail that point home!

“Both parties are guilty of this kind of behavior, but I don't know a lot of democrats who would stoop to this level and throw something in the face of someone else about something that happened close to 40 years ago. Some of us learn from our mistakes.’

doughgirl said:Kennedy broke the law to save his arse and everyone knows it. That does have a lot to do with it. And it says a lot about Teddys morals and his character….. But people were paid off and Teddy to this day is worshipped by the Democrats purely because of his name. If your a kennedy you can do anything and get away with it. Oops I forgot Michael Skakel, he finally had to pay but got away with it for most his life.
What does that tell ya?
In fact while we are on the Kennedys…….look at that families pattern of illegal activities and trials over sexual acts.
No Republican family can top that one and if they can who are they? :rofl
There are a lot of wonderful, honorable, ethical, moral Democrats around this country, TEddy is NOT one of them.
Aps did Foley send all those emails from work? I really dont know. Are you saying that if he sent them from home….its not our business?
I agree both parties are guilty. But the Democrats seem to sweep theirs under the rug and justify questionable behavior. They however don’t give Republicans a “pass’ for the same things that they have done.
Oh lets feel sorry for Teddy now. His poor life? He’s wealthy, he has an entire party who excuse his behaviors and worships him no matter what he says and does…….yea right, poor Teddy.
Well thats the Democrats take on it for sure……What is your definition of “honored and revered” ?
Must be vastly different from mine.
rathi said, "Ted Kennedy acted in a manner that certainly was not responsible and probably even criminal. However, shays comment is nothing more than a desperate attempt to shift blame. Can anyone remember the last time a politicians actually accepted they had did something wrong? And don't count the half-assed "well i did blank, BUT...."
aps said:Frankly, I think raising a situation that occurred decades ago, as stated by Kennedy's office, shows how desperate Shays is. It is so unbelievably immature that I am embarrassed for Shays. What an a$$wipe.

It's completely inappropriate for people to bring up Kennedy's actions, because they happened decades ago. It's far in the past, no reason to bring it up now. After all, it's not like a Kennedy would do something that was illegal nowadays.

Trajan Octavian Titus said:Then what's the time frame where we can stop bringing up a Senate candidates past? And what subjects are off limits? I mean you people didn't seem to have a problem with it when it was GWB's war record, **** the left didn't just bring up the fact that he didn't serve in Vietnam they forged documents to make it look like he went AWOL, and what about George Allen someone tracked down someone he went to college with and stated that he remembered him saying the word "niger."
aps said:I think it depends. First of all, it was not a democrat in Congress who forged Bush's documents. Let's get that straight. Second, GWB's record regarding Vietnam was relevant when he was promoting the war in Iraq and, to some extent, running for president. It goes towards HIS character. There he was attacking John Kerry's service,
and thus his service was up for discussion. For George Allen, this behavior of his has continued throughout the years--thus, it is relevant.
It would be one thing if his "racist" attitude had not shown its ugly head since the "niger" story. But he had a Confederate Flag in his law office and a noose.
Bringing up Studds regarding the Foley incident has some relevance, as there are resembling facts. I don't see the relevance in bringing up Ted Kennedy's situation. It would be one thing if Ted Kennedy was (1) speaker of the House or (2) minority leader. But he is neither, and what happened way back when had no relevance to the Foley issue. Kennedy hasn't done anything similar to that which occurred way back when.
It was a cheap shot, and I hope Shays loses his seat. He is an a$$hole.
Trajan Octavian Titus said:Not true GWB never discredited Kerry's service that was done by 527's not connected to the Bush administration.
Bullshit "Makaka," you have to be ****ing kidding me. This is a smear campaign plane and simple.
It was a lasso not a noose he had western memorablia in his office as for the Confederate flag it's ****ing Virginia you know the capital of the confederacy I'm surprised it's not the state flag.
This is nothing more than another in along line of Democrat race card smear campaigns.
Furthermore; the darling of the Democratic party Robert Byrd a former Klans member no less was quoted on national t.v. as saying: "white niger," in 2001 and was still rated by the NAACP with a 100% for the 108th congressional score card. Not to mention Hillary's "ghandi works at a gas station," and "****ing jew bastard comments."
Ya and what has Hastert done?
So is insinuating that Hastert was protecting a child molester.

Shoot the messenger, not the message, right?
easyt65 said:yet that is what the Democrats are doing to Hassert - damning him for the actions of Foley - and calling for a backlash against ALL GOP for Foley's mis-deed!. The ones doing this, BTW, are the ones who did nothing to the member of their own party when he had SEX with a page!
easyt65 said:I bet the democrats ARE upset that the GOP is reminding the public about how Kennedy was allowed to get away with 'murder' but are now calling for a witch-hunt of the entire GOP because of 1 man's perverted e-mails with a minor! I bet the Dems ARE upset that someone is pointing out the Democrat's continuous hypocritical behavior! Besides, another reason the Libs hate hearing this brought up is that people are reminded about how NOTHING was done to Teddy for this and are still shocked to this day! the longer this stays buried, the better for them! Only for Democrats, it seems, is there a Statute of Limitations for crimes/scandal/etc - another hypocritical point the Dems have!!
easyt65 said:More hypocritical BS. Ok so YOU may actually feel this way, but the freakin' Democratic Party DID bring up Bush's drugs and DUIs in the Presidential elections! They/the media has even gone after his daughters! So pardon me is I say 'BS' to the high-and-mighty approach/attempt to take the moral high road, after doing the same things, by saying 'shame shame' when they get a dose of their own medicine!
Bottom Line, a Republican finally got a belly full of good ol' Democratic Party hypocritical BS and pointed out the continuous pattern of 2-faced, double-standard hypocritical behavior and tolerance of criminals in their own ranks while demonizing and crucifying GOP-ers for the same things or less!
easyt65 said:Unfortunately NOT to jail!
Just what the country needs, another 8 years of continuous scandal after scandal perpetrated by a pathelogical lying sexual predator who runs around abusing his power for his own interests while the Islamic Extremists who declared war on us and who he ignored while they stalked and killed Americans abroad without fear of repraisal stage a comeback stronger than ever because of his unwillingness to deal with now as much as he did then! Meanwhile, Clinton, faced with a nuclear armed NK, who he gave NK what they needed to make nukes in an attempt to convince them NOT to make nukes, would offer NK long-range missile technolgy in an attempt to convince them NOT to develop missiles capable of striking the United States!
Oh, the good ol' days! :doh
