Looks like they've meant it so far.The Pentagon's senior enlisted member has drawn the line against ISIS: "surrender or die!"
In a blunt warning to the remaining ISIS fighters, Army Command Sgt. Maj. John Wayne Troxell said the shrinking band of militants could either surrender to the U.S. military or face death.
“ISIS needs to understand that the Joint Force is on orders to annihilate them,” he wrote in a forceful message on Facebook. “So they have two options, should they decide to come up against the United States, our allies and partners: surrender or die!”

Downright comical, but expected considering the source, since it was Russia that actually defeated ISUS, assuming they are actually defeated, and not just repositioned to another location by their paymasters in Tel Aviv and Washington.

The reporter cannot even get his own headline correct! Ask any soldier or Marine, active or vet, wtf is an “entrenchment” tool. The correct answer is in the SGM’s quote.
With a name like Army Command Sgt. Maj. John Wayne Troxell, you can take what he says to the bank.

I don't get it. The quote uses that term. We called them e-tools (army, '90-'95).
I enlisted just a couple years after you and e-tool was the only thing I ever called it as well.
But we knew the 'e' was for entrenchment. If anyone didn't, they sure did after we dug-in humvees.

Straight forward and unequivocal rules of engagement that Obama couldn't muster.
Best of all, it worked, and it worked quickly. Less than a year.
Do you think that any Muslim extremist radicals are likely to try their luck in the near future?
Russian never fought out side of Syria hence you are Wrong.:doh
Yikes.
Russia never fought outside of Syria? Your conclusion--that I am Wrong--is based on a poor knowledge of history.
When I was a kid, Russia under Kruschev invaded Hungary and several other countries. Obviously, at the end of WWII Russia made it all the way to Berlin.
Russia was invited into Syria, unlike the US which committed military aggression, again, to get there and so much more of the Mideast.
The story and headline are by some zany outfit called Fox.
The entrenchment tool faux pas is what can happen when some English major kid at the copy desk where they write the headlines gets your copy and decides you need some grammar. A reporter worth his salt could respond by introducing the kid to an actual entrenching tool for real. If you know what I mean -- and you do. Then send him out for a foxhole plug.
I've put in bold the entrenching tool part of the brief statement by SGM Troxell to his Facebook page. The right half of the photo with the entrenching tool is from the FB page SGM Troxell wrote.
"If they surrender, we will safeguard them to their detainee facility cell, provide them chow, a cot and due process.
"HOWEVER, if they choose not to surrender, then we will kill them with extreme prejudice, whether that be through security force assistance, by dropping bombs on them, shooting them in the face, or beating them to death with our entrenching tools.
"Regardless, they cannot win, so they need to choose how it's going to be."

It works for me among many others here too.
We know also that Command SGM Troxell is the senior enlisted advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and to the Secretary of Defense, appointed by Chairman General Joe Dunford of USMC. Indeed while the Faux article said he is Army command sergeant major, SGM Troxell is in fact in the Army and the killer for real who has five combat tours is the Senior Enlisted Adviser to the Chairman (SEAC).
The technique of extreme prejudice btw might be to go at 'em with the entrenching tool flat to put the desert rat flat. Then put the entrenching tool at the 90-degree angle shown in the photo to start slicing and dic, er, beating. Beating the live and armed enemy with your tool isn't necessarily a war crime izzit. Waving your tool before you finish him off would be the way to go then. For sure.
