Senate advances Respect for Marriage Act in bipartisan 62-37 vote

I wasn’t just referring to me. The deal is that I won’t tell anyone else how to live their life unless they ask for my advice and you agree to do the same. For everyone.
As to my sexuality it’s really none of your business but since I really don’t care if people know that I am a gay man and since you asked I will answer. If you have been following DP you would already know this and you would know that there are others here like me too. I don’t care at all that you think I am an “abomination to God”. I actually find that laughable.

I am no more of a danger to your grandkids than you are. Do you realize that most cases of sexual abuse are perpetrated not by complete strangers but by family members and family friends. I found your request to be ignorant and inappropriate.
So, now that you understand the real terms of my proposal do you accept it? Or will you go on pontificating to others that they too need to adopt a “Christian lifestyle” or will you desist in intruding into the lives of other people? You do realize that no one cares about your opinion concerning how they live their life, don’t you?
FYI: Ethel was the name of my departed dog.
I believe in everyone’s right to speak freely. Yours and mine. I won’t make any agreement to limit my right. I did say that I’ll do my best not to interact with you on any subject. That’s why I mentioned the name you use. Ethel2. When I see your comments I’ll just pass over them, but I will continue to comment freely when and where I want to. You‘re not going to censor me in any way. Put me on ignore if you like.

As I thought. You can't stop sticking your religious beliefs into other people's business. For the record, I already don't do that unless I am asked or if its a close friend, so I wouldn't be giving anything additional to the deal you rejected. But by all means go on preaching to people who have no interest in listening to you. Thats a big problem with you religious types: you feel the need for everyone else to adopt you personal set of ethics, or at least preach them to others. No one is interested in your set of moral values but YOU.

You also believe in codifying your religious beliefs into law, an idea that is quite contrary to everything this country stands for.
I don’t have a problem with anyone trying to change the laws to more closely align with their beliefs. Contacting their representatives to voice their opinions is fine. It’s our job to make sure that we elect representatives that tell them to go to hell when the religious fanatics try to align the law with their bibles.

I do. Anything that aligns with their beliefs is contrary to someone else's and vice versa. I have asks a couple of times already and none would answer to which laws did Jesus propose or want to change?

Do you have “religious beliefs”?

People that say things like you obviously don’t understand the concept of witnessing or preaching the gospel. But it’s been the same for 2000 years. Jesus was crucified for speaking things that offended the religious leaders of his day. Christians are murdered regularly for their faith even today. I know the things I post are offensive to many people but I do it in the effort to help. You may not like it or believe it but Christians are commanded to do it. And I do it happily.

I have never mentioned the law or laws in any of my comments. I have said truthfully that homosexual behavior is a sin and abomination to God. And abortion as well. Both are a sin against the body. I say these things in the effort to rescue the person that participates or supports such activities. And for no other reason.

WTF are you witnessing?
But it’s been the same for 2000 years.
People have meddled or wanted to in other people's lives for a lot longer.
Jesus was crucified for speaking things that offended the religious leaders of his day.
Which laws did he seek to change or proposed new ones? Answer this question.
Christians are murdered regularly for their faith even today.
Where?
I know the things I post are offensive
Because they are stupid and ignorant.

I do it in the effort to help.
Help yourself first by educating yourself.

Not to meddle in laws or other people's lives.

Looks like you wasted your time then! No one cares!

How is offending someone helping? Continuing to push your religious BS when no one asked or wants it is just plain rude and sanctimonious. Playing the persecution card doesn't help either!

No one cares? You mean some people don’t care. You don’t speak for everyone. Not here or anywhere. You just yell and think you’re always the smartest person in the room. You’re far from it.

Only obnoxious Christians try to preach to those who aren’t in the least interested in hearing it. It’s offensive and it’s presumptuous.
I recommend that YOU live YOUR life as you see fit and afford others the same courtesy. Trust me: no one is in the least interested in your religious beliefs or your own morals.
My spiritual beliefs are mine and I don’t preach them to others.
Christians who intrude in that manner are no better than phone solicitors: no one is really interested in talking to them either.

You couldn’t be more mistaken. True Christians are commanded to share their faith and to uphold Biblical truths, and not to keep their religion to themselves. We are to take a stand against evil in this world. We dont force anyone to believe. Thats between them and God, but we are not to stay silent. Why? Because there is an eternal hellfire made for evil doers. You’re trying to make a good Christian sound like a good dog. Just stay in your corner and shut up. It ain’t like that, pal.

John 3:16.
I feel you. People get all pissy when I try to make them follow my religious tenets as well.

You have no scriptural support for this. You are putting words in God's mouth.

I hear he gets a little riled about that sort of thing.

But that’s the way our system works. You petition your representatives to support laws you want and those who disagree with you do the same thing. If more people think like you you have a better chance of winning the battle.
I am not interested in silencing people I disagree with-only keeping them out of my face as I keep out of theirs. Religious people aren’t going to convince me that their moral positions are best for me, nor will they convince others who aren’t religious. Personally I find them obnoxious when they try.

So far, no one here seems to care what you say. Some are practically telling you to eff off. You also seem to enjoy engaging in Strawman arguments too.

Then why not find religious groups and discuss your beliefs there. No one but you is interested in your moral structure.

Why don’t you just be honest and say what’s really behind your question? Or tell us the answer.

You don't learn very fast do you? Or at all.

Learn what? That you lied and now dont know how to save face about that?

Prove it. I asked more than once before you decided to use 'offense' as an excuse...and then a few others LOL
