Sen. Rand Paul thanks DC cops for saving him from 'crazed mob' after RNC

What you describe is where the Democrat-Socialists are.

Trump Supporters are in the gun stores buying more AMMO.

Yes. The demsocs are being rude, and the Trump supporters are outright murderers and wannabe-murderers.

I can agree with that.

Doesn't matter. People murder people and get gofundmes for their defense for the general public.

So what happened to Ron Paul is, by today's standards, very small potatoes.

I hope that "today's standards" are ephemeral and that people are remembering "yesterday's" and hoping for sane tomorrows.

The feeling in the pit of my stomach disagrees with the above; I hope it’s only indigestion......

Maybe I'm misreading? You think that physical aggression against those you don't like/disagree with is okay?

As an aside, I saw Rand Paul on TV last night, and his "morning hair," upon which you commented earlier in this thread, is apparently a style. Ugh.

You misread or I was unclear. What I meant to convey was that the toothpaste is out of the tube, I fear.

Regardless of the outcome of the election, the US is in trouble, imo.

Thank you for clarifying; I guess I misread. And I agree with you. I expected the pandemic to pull us all together, sigh.

I don’t think a Pearl Harbor/911 event would bring us together any longer....

Sadly, I lean toward agreeing. But what does this mean? Eventually, some sort of civil war? Or has it already begun?

I don’t know. Truman was in his last months in the WH when I came along. I am presently reading/listening to the David McCullough book, “Truman.” It’s very interesting the people who stepped up in times of need and did what was right and necessary. I have been witness to the coarsening of US life/business and politics in my life time. There was a time that you didn’t mention your competitor in a print or tv/radio ad. Everyone knew who you were talking about. Lawyers didn’t advertise until 1977, (Bates vs Arizona Bar.) News providers and politicians had an unspoken agreement. Somewhere it all went Wild West. There is a certain comfort associated with the age I find myself today.

Totally agree. I never thought I'd live to see the day when doctors advertised on TV.

I think on this board, I have more than once likened modern life as a game of ‘musical chairs.” I think the music is playing faster and everyone is eyeing the chairs........

Haven't read this before, but I like it. And I'd add that some are just looking for the door now.

I hope I get $6,000,000 and get 30 years younger.

That's just as likely.

Lol and he didn't even get injured. A crowd of a hundred and not a punch landed. Great attack. When you talk crazy stuff you should expect to be confronted by voters.

You don't need to be physically touched in order to be assaulted by someone.

Rand Paul was assaulted by that mod.

What laws were broken? Was he actually attacked? Get your lies straight.

bongs,
You need to pay attention to the law.

What Is Assault?

Assault is sometimes defined as any intentional act that causes another person to fear that she is about to suffer physical harm. This definition recognizes that placing another person in fear of imminent bodily harm is itself an act deserving of punishment, even if the victim of the assault is not physically harmed. This definition also allows police officers to intervene and make an arrest without waiting for the assaulter to actually strike the victim.

Do you know that Seattle, Portland, L.A., Chicago, Minneapolis, Kenosha are Democratic Run cities controlled by Democratic Mayors and have been under Democratic Control for in most cases decades? Do you know who hires, funds, and trains the police? Do you know that we have laws in this country including those involving police actions?

What control and responsibility does Trump have for these cities? Same holds true with states, NY, NJ, and California constitute over 1/3 of the COVID 19 deaths in this country? your loyalty to liberalism and diversion from reality is the problem facing our cities. Time to boot all liberals out of office in those riot infested cities. Am happy to see the governor of Wisconsin a Democrat asking Trump for help and getting it

Your loyalty to liberalism is cult like, seeking attention, and totally ignoring results. The buck doesn't stop with the President on city riots and looting, the chain of command is the Mayor, City Council, Governor, THEN the President

Of course the Dems know exactly what you have written.
They have no answer for it. They are bereft of any ideas to stop the senseless violence.
They cannot accept the fact that it is the governors and mayors whose job it is to quell the riots and arrest the criminals.
Why not blame Trump for the criminal behavior? They have nothing else.

I thought Trump was going to make America great. I guess he failed.

So you are writing you are comforted by the 'dog eat dog', cutthroat world in which you find yourself today?
You wrote: "There is a certain comfort associated with the age I find myself today. "
Just like in the elections of 1796 and 1800 where both sides did not hold back with any of their libelous, nasty comments about their opposition.

There is always the chance that one will not understand a post when jumping in without reading prior posts.......

If you think you can insult me, do your best. I'll be looking forward to the challenge.

I'm pretty sure most insults slip past you unnoticed.

Yeah and? If people were breaking the law, who was arrested?

It is not surprising that you endorse this sort of threatening and abusive behavior.
