The 24th amendment literally says that the right of citizens to vote shall not be abridged.

The fourth is "citizens."

No, I'm only pointing out that there's no constitutional gaurantee of the right to vote. You et.al talk as if there is. My main point being, there's no way that a voter ID law can be un-constitutional, becauae nothing in The Constitution forbids states from requiring a voter to properly identify himself.

If you guys could actually approach the subject with a shred of intellectual honesty, you'd know that's not what anyone is arguing. In fact, nobody is arguing against the concept of voter ID ... however, when said ID is expensive (many states have not made provisions for free ID, which it should be if you need it to vote) and more difficult to obtain for poor people, it becomes a de facto poll tax.
Jesus ****ing Christ on a Cracker, do you read? I JUST SAID I'm not against people showing an ID to vote, as long as the ID is reasonably obtainable, which for many otherwise legal voters, it's not. And the argument that "well, everyone should have an ID" holds no water. It doesn't matter. Voting is a right, period, and if the requirement to exercise that right becomes a serious impediment, then that needs to be taken into consideration before making it a requirement.

You are making it up as you go along. I don't care who they vote for as long as they are legally entitled to vote. And anyone who is legally entitled to vote should be proud to show a valid ID.
