Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) indicated in a video that surfaced Thursday that that he thinks the Senate should support a challenge to the results of the Electoral College, which certified President-elect Joe Biden’s victory this week.

Tuberville suggested he would back a challenge Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) has vowed to bring against the vote. If a senator joins Brooks, it would require the House and Senate to debate and then vote on the issue.

“You see what’s coming. You’ve been reading about it in the House. We’re going to have to do it in the Senate,” Tuberville said in the video taken by liberal activist Lauren Windsor at a rally for Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) and David Perdue (R-Ga.) in Georgia.

These guys should give it a rest. Fifty+ courts have thrown this issue out because the Repubs presented no evidence of voter fraud on such a huge scale. And if he's doing this to suck up to Trump, he's gone after Jan. 20. They are beating a dead horse.

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

The south shall rise again!

Waste of time... Both the senate and the house must agree to reject a states electoral votes. Not gonna happpen

Lol, and just like that, conservatives now hate the electoral college. What a bizarre world we live in.

Man, these folk are real peaches as humans.
I hope karma comes back to wipe this type of "conservatism" off the face of the flat, flat earth (that is only 5K years old).

It will not get enough votes in either the House or Senate. Tuberville doesn't even know what the Electoral College is.

The newly elected former football coach Tommy Tuberville would be going against the explicit instructions of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Tommy pandering to his base rather than discuss legislation needed for 2021. I guess his time in the Senate will be about re-election, how typical.

I honestly don’t think he’s smart enough to know any better.

Alabama will make a great field. An entire former state that will feed the country.

Yeup, DOA, it is all for show and what it will do is damage the entire Republican Reps and Senators and also Pence when he certifies the election.
Trump demands loyalty and if not given he is willing to destroy the Republican Party, but why not he is willing to destroy our electoral system, either declare him Dictator or he will take the Nation down. Some call that Sedition others think Treason.

Pence is high tailing it out of the country the next day.

Yes, I heard that, the funny thing is he could not say where? Somewhere to hide from the donald? Do you think a week is enough or maybe a month would be better?

Touchdown Tommy. Horrible football coach...horrible Senator. How stupid is this fukker you ask? He said the 3 branches of our government is the House the Senate and the Executive. That's how stupid. And all the Clems and Cl;etuses in Alabama actually elected this guy. Ya just can't make this shit up folks.

Some idiot Trumpsters believe that the rules for a Contingent Election apply in this case.

So much ignorance going around.

Will be fun to watch the Republican-controlled Senate vote against tossing out the Electoral votes from GA, WI, MI and PA.

And then watching Trump's head spin on Tweeter.

:)

It ought to damage them, but I'm not sure it will. If it happens before the Georgia run off it might help the Democrats there.

Mitch is retracting his head back into his shell again. Hopefully he never reappears,
Some Republicans are going to have a big problem after January, it won't be Mitch.

It happens after the runoffs. But being that trump loses no matter what, doing something stupid for trump is not a bright idea and reflects badly on all the Repubs. It will Not make Mitch happy and he does have a lot of power and clout, he will find ways to make them pay for their stupidity.

The Georgia election ends the day before...
