See How Many Animals Are Killed For Our Food

I really believe most urban dwellers have no idea where their food comes from.
Many of them also do not understand that some of the clothes they are wearing, car upholstering they are riding around in, and even much of the facial makeup they are wearing is made from animals.

Well we all know that Trump certainly doesn't. He just discovered the word "groceries"! He used to think that all food came from "the kitchen", .... or from McDonald's.

It’s such an old-fashioned term but a beautiful term: groceries," he mused. "It sort of says a bag with different things in it." 4/2/25

And Americans elected this moron.

www.animlaclock.org breaks down how many animals are butchered to maintain our demand for meat. It's kind of gross but enlightening
My family kills things for a living and then people eat them 🤷‍♀️

My husband also sits on NUMEROUS boards and works very closely with conservationists from numerous universities and organizations and government authorities to make sure that quotas, etc. are designed to maintain the integrity of species, their breeding seasons, the breeding stock and the overall health of a species.

I get that you may not personally agree with eating any sort of animal - but humans are omnivores.

Not only that, but in order to grow crops to feed all the humans on this planet - other species ARE killed. In order to live in communities and have the material things that you are accustomed to - things have died 🤷‍♀️. And will continue to die to maintain a very delicate balance.

That's the cycle of life. You may not like it, but it just is.

If you don’t want to eat meat 🤷‍♀️ don’t.

Those of us out here that do it for a living care more about making sure the practices that move food from the environment to people’s stomachs are ethical and sustainable - because they’re going to continue. If the cycle stops, so do humans. 🤷‍♀️

Not if you buy them from an actual butcher instead of at a grocery store.

My butcher wraps all our beef in paper. Then I bring it home and repackage it in heavier plastic and vacuum seal it for long term freezing.

Or raise and butcher your own as my family did when I was young. Many of my relatives still do.

Yep. I have a cousin who has pigs and other smaller livestock on her farm. They are well cared for and respected during their lifespans.

I’ve never known a beef cattle farmer - but several dairy cattle farmers.

It’s not an easy life and I have the utmost respect for them.

Some animals are delicious! I am planning a filet mignon barbecue on the 4th of July. 🎆
PETA, People Eating Tasty Animals.
I love beef, chicken, fish, pork and have not problems with eating those. I have no problem with those who don't want to either. Although if you complain about my love of meat, I may not invite you to my next BBQ.

Very early in my career, I managed a slaughterhouse that processed 1,800 head of cattle a day.

Been in agribusiness all my life and my company is responsible for a large percentage of the total.

😄

For the sake of good health, I try not to overdo red meat, however I do enjoy the occasional barbecue and other beef chicken, and pork dishes. I have no problem with vegans as long as they have no problem with my diet choices. I do hope vegans take the required vitamins to replace what they would otherwise get from meat.

I eat meat always have and always will. I just posted my OP after I watched a morning show that got on the topic, so I looked it up. A week ago so many were bitching about a young kid shooting ducks and zi responded stating we kill chickens, turkeys, doves, geese and ducks everyday so why freak out about a few ducks.

I don't suggest shooting the farmer's cows for beef LOL

They would probably get very angry about that and I have yet to see any "wild" cows roaming around in all my years LOL.
AFAIK, there's no hunting seasons on cows.
