Proud of what you ask? Of how their ever precious Venezuela, the country they both held up as a model for what the US should aspire to be, having become a socialist cesspool and the armpit of South America. There are 3 separate stories from 3 media outlets over the last 2 days that highlight the reality of what this socialist utopia (as many on the far left had previously claimed it would become) in South America has turned into... I'll give you a little hint... Think "the Soviet Union during the 1980's".

There's this story from the 16th from none other than NPR about the shortages of flour, sugar, milk, black beans, butter, corn meal and diapers, along with the long lines around the block of people hoping to get some of these things.

Venezuela In Turmoil For Lack Of Flour, Milk And Diapers : Parallels : NPR

Then there's this story today from CNBC, which talks about their 57% inflation rate, the violence and what effect this will have on Cuba (which they have been propping up for years) should aid from Venezuela gets cut or is stopped all together.

Cuba is Venezuela's biggest loser

And finally this CNN story about how the violence has gotten so bad, that Air Canada has had to suspend all their flights to Caracas...

Air Canada, Canada's largest airline, suspends flights to Venezuela - CNN.com

So my question is... Where are those 2 socialist/communist Hollywood morons now?

So your way of reporting on a political crisis in a country is to focuse on celebreties..............................

[sarcasm] how very informed you must be to see how very essential that is to the subject! [/sarcasm]

Everyone, except those with their head in the sand, know about what's going on in Venezuela... What I want to know is, where are the Hollywood morons now, that for years have praised that socialist nightmare and trashed the US?

I want them to come forward just as boldly now that Venezuela has fallen to pieces, as they did when it was on the path to this destruction and they pretended it wasn't.

So you do care about what Hollywood stars say about politics. That's cute.

An informed citizen would wonder what former President Carter has to say. But I suppose Danny Glover and Sean Penn are just as good, Grim.

So you are more concerned about the image of some actors than the security situation in Venezuela, the marauding gangs in mayor Venezuelan cities, the armed political militias of Maduro and the imprissoned leader of the Venezuelan oppositions.

You should get your priorities right.

What?

In all of that, with three links, you get only celebrities?

Well my friend, these celebrities became mouthpieces for something they do not understand on any level and it is not only right and fair they get called on it, but that people take heed.

The tabloids are filled with this crap and it is high time they were exposed as the mindless, drug addled, slithering misfits they are.

To arrogantly dismiss it is to sanction it.

Do you realize that by opening a response with an over simplistic, reductive response you lose the argument?

No where is that stated.

again. if anyone wants to use their stardom to influence voters' minds, then they become part of the voting process and need to be held accountable just like the tyalkiing heads on TV.

Sorry about the fact the OP is true and you have to attack straw men....

So my question is... Where are those 2 socialist/communist Hollywood morons now?

Maybe we can deport them to Venezuela. At least they'd be happy there.

You should get your priorities right.

What I want, is for the Hollywood morons who trashed the US and used Venezuela as the poster child for what the US should aspire to be, to step up and and either say they were wrong, of take their lumps for the despicable crap they tried to pawn off on America.

I am not the one who opend a thread with the title:

Sean Penn and Danny Glover must be so proud.

So I am not the one in this thread who instead of focusing on the situation on the ground and it`s implications - focused on celebeties.

Did you misread or are you just childishly trying to blame me for the idiotic title and preference of a thread that I didn`t even start?

Oh how I soooo wish we could... They deserve to live in the same crud as they so boldly endorsed.

What I want is the leader of the Venezuelan opposition to be freed, the losening up of restrictions on the press in Venezuela and the left wing gangs to give up their arms.

Now. Which one is more important?

I agree with you, but that isn't why I started this thread.

WTF?

No maybe not that that has nothing to do with it...YOU WERE the one who made the stupid comment, and this...whatever.

What?

And actually have a conversation about the roll of celebrities in the electoral process?

That would ruin everything. Someone might actually have to think or, gasp, go find something to support their opinion.

Truth is the truth. They both hate the US, they should go live there.

If I lose an argument because of a response like this, then I may as well let you have your trophy of meaninglessness. This belongs in the entertainment section.

Venezuela is a pit. It has a corrupt and ineffective government, it is oppressive to civil liberties, and so on and so forth. Danny Glover and Sean Penn ought to at no time factor in with one's disgust toward the regime.

So you ignore the title.

Well if you are so full with yourself, go and continue whining over something that someone never actualy said and enjoy being a redicilous laughtingstock.

Please, you never heard their rants?

No.

Because mainly, I really dont care the slightest bit about the political opinions of actors, singers and other it-girl celebrety whatevers.

Where I live, if a celebrety would endorse any political figure, the public would say: "Do you think we are dumb enought to vote for something only because a famous person advocates it?! Give us arguments and not famous people!"

however you want to see it...I just put you on ignore.

have at it.

That's right, it's not a thread you started. The focus is those two celebs. If you don't like it, you don't have to post on this thread. /shrug
