There are 3 separate stories from 3 media outlets over the last 2 days that highlight the reality of what this socialist utopia (as many on the far left had previously claimed it would become) in South America has turned into... I'll give you a little hint... Think "the Soviet Union during the 1980's".

There's this story from the 16th from none other than NPR about the shortages of flour, sugar, milk, black beans, butter, corn meal and diapers, along with the long lines around the block of people hoping to get some of these things.

Then there's this story today from CNBC, which talks about their 57% inflation rate, the violence and what effect this will have on Cuba (which they have been propping up for years) should aid from Venezuela gets cut or is stopped all together.
