SCOTUS said that the 2nd amendment allowed people to use guns for self defense

I gave you the answers. Your questions are irrelevant.

Nope, you attempted to answer two questions - which were, at the very least, unsatisafactory.

Here is the full list again:

1. The militia are volunteers, where does it say they have to be paid? How big a burden would this place on the treasury ?
What law makes men muster ?

2. So will the US army have to equip and train every man ?
Would this be like a draft ?
How long would the enlistment be ?

3. What is the differences between guarding oneself and no militia at all - (or do you assume that every militiaman stands over his neighbor) ?
4. Does the Constitution still apply - like the 5th amendment ?
5. What would happen if a jogger just ignored the armed militia - can they shoot him ?
6. Would the militia detain the jogger ? (you know that requires an arrest right ? Or is that another suspension of citizen rights you propose)
7. If they arrest him, what would be the charge, and would it be a felony or a misdemeanor ?

Why do you care? All you need do is muster.

Why do you care? All you need do is muster.

Because I care that the US economy (of which I'm a part of) is currently suffering due to the COVID-19 lockdown an a mandatory mustering of every male citizen of military age, for an indefinite length of time, would inflict similar economic damage.

That is your irrelevant special pleading. Nobody is claiming that but you.

Why do you believe we need to remove every male citizen from the workforce?

Post #356:

"So you don't think removing every male citizen, of military age, from the work force, won't have a detrimental economic effect ?"

Why do you believe we need to remove every male citizen of military age from the workforce?

Because they represent the militia, do they not?

And you said in post #296:

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state.

And don't you argue for guarding every building ?

Because in post #214 you said:

For example, it is "one of the punks, next door" creating mischief and increasing costs, and the Reason it is your turn to muster and patrol the business sector to keep property crimes down.

Or do you think only a handful of militiamen will make a difference ?

And your militia will only guard commercial properties ?

Even a corporal could figure it out. We could start by, grabbing gun lovers who may be contemptible scoundrels.

You mean arrest them ?

On what charge ?

Would due process and a jury trial still apply ?

Ok. Let's examine one hypothetical alternative.

Let's assume, in this case that a person is being brought before the Court for being a contemptible scoundrel in public and happens to be a gun lover.

Let's further assume it is serious enough to warrant time in jail. The judge could send this person to jail or the option of active militia service.

Is that going to be a new crime ?
What would a person have to be arrested for such a crime ?

6th Amendment:
"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
"

So when mustering the militia, you'd suspend the 6th amendment ?
What other amendments would you suspend, how about searches of property and the right to remain silent ?

The point is, persons could have a choice between jail and militia service.
