Scoop: Trump's 5-part plan to attack DeSantis

De Santis would be wise to 'cancel' Trump, in other words ignore him. When asked about what Trump said about him he has a list of 100's of replies all rotating around "Trump says a lot of things...." to "do you believe that?"

He can 'toy' Fatbastard for a year.

If I was a campaign manager right now I would be instructing the candidate to pretend Trump is dead. Anything asked can be met with "Donald Trump is an ex president and should do what ex presidents do."

I would not just push, "ex-President", but I'd hammer home he's an "election loser".

"The ex-President that lost the election", or something like that.

Of course the MAGA don't believe Trump lost the election, and Trump will also deny it. So DeSantis will be in a hard place in having to go against the Big Lie.

In fact one of the biggest things in my mind, will be if the Big Lie prevails or receives push-back. Given the prevalence and wide embracement of Q-Anon within the Party, the Big Lie just may prevail. If & when a fellow candidate disputes the Big Lie, it will send shockwaves throughout the Party & political world. Such is the state of our nation . . .

"MAGA" is mostly an issue in the minds of lefties. It's rarely mentioned is serious RW dialog, and most in derogatory terms when it is. Trump's faction within the GOP is loud, but from what I can see, mostly dwindling.
It's still a long way to the first primary so a lot can happen.
I mentioned a while back about a book titled "The Case for Trump" by Victor Davis Hanson. In one chapter Hanson compares Trump to the hero in the movie Shane. Long story short. Alan Ladd plays Shane, a wide-west gunfighter that tries to escape his past but moves into a town that is being terrorized by gangs of outlaws. The current sheriff is incompetent and was things get worse, Shane finally straps on his guns and proceed to clean up the town. At the end Shane realizes he's regressed to person he doesn't want to be and rides off into the sunset.
Davis suggests Trump was the guy to try and clean up town, but probably not the one to oversee a peaceful community. I think that's a good point. I'm seeing several erstwhile pro-Trump conservative pundits suggesting Trump should saddle up. I agree.
Just don't expect him to ride off into the sunset unless he's escaping the annihilation of a country that he caused when the ungrateful turned their back on him...

Trump came out a long time ago saying he would bring out everything he knew about DeSantis and destroy him if he had to
and it looks like it is starting.
Have a nice day

If that's what he's doing, he doesn't have much.

De Santis by double digits is in De Santis' favor as he's not even in the race!

If you have only a 20% margin against a at this stage, Trump's ass is on the line.

I don't see him winning. The GOP hierarchy will prevent it if they have to, and Trump will run on his own, ensuring another four years of Democrats.

And the way things are going in congress I doubt they will keep their majority.

How can it be a "Lefty" thing, when it's Trump's campaign slogan? It's on his hat, at his rallies, on his flags.
That was last election.
I loved the movie "Shane"! But, I don't see Trump that altruistically. I think he's an opportunistic conman, with his greatest con & payoff being the Presidency.
Of course you do. Tax cuts, strong economy, even through COVID, rapid recovery. Just ego building, huh?
I too believed Trump's star waned greatly after the midterms. But as of late, the past few weeks, I think I sense his favor growing. I thought he was finished in terms of the nomination, but now I'm not so sure.

I do think he's got a way to go to beat Biden, though.
Yeah, who wouldn't voice for 7% inflation, exploding national debt, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, and illegal drug superhighways. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, whatever. Enjoy your Biden pay cuts.

What is the House majority doing about any of those issues?

Trump has been on the offensive over at his Twitter clone.

You know, given MAGA's and the Party's retreat into its own closed media world, most of us may not know much of what occurs in the nomination process.

Trump won’t be able to keep anything to himself, IMO.

I was thinking of calling "bullshit" but you might just be right.

Look at who's speaking in that video, though? Do you think it will be that quite after Trump's speech?

I base predictions on headlines.

If there are no headlines involving Trump, he's in decline, more so when his name is in the headlines for the reasons of criminal investigations.

I believe MAGA will go the way of the "Tea" party. They're the same people only they think they have a leader now. In a "natural" environment they will become a fringe (like our 'Freedom Convoy" assholes who seemed to think Canadians would simply overlook skyrocketing prices, wartime like shortages etc). They are for intents and purposes dead. They will add nothing to the conservatives since they already vote that way.

If not, America is in for a siege against truth, honesty, and fairness. If not, and MAGA grows, it will metastasize far enough the "Union" will be forever divided. It's not that they simply reject spending, it's about how they HATE the left and want it destroyed. I was looking at a map of red states and blue states and saw that red states are pretty disconnected and will need permission to ship goods through Blue America. Can anyone say "tariffs"?

Two years until the election is a long way off for inflation, which I will correct you that it is 6.4%, so if you insist on rounding let's properly round to 6.

Biden reminds me to a degree, of a former Prime Minister, Jean Chretien. Jean had a speech impediment that created an idea he wasn't very bright. He used that effectively his entire life and (details another time) outsmarted a sitting president who, admittedly was a mental midget.

Biden speaks slowly, he always has. In his age now it makes him look doddery and old.

I would say he has the mind and talent of a shit house rat. He spent all those years in the senate, I doubt he learned nothing. His handling of MTG was classic.....dumping it out like it was a small slip of intent.....

My opinion of him has been raised a lot, but I still can't see him with another 4 years, and what will he look like then?
Biden suffered from profound stuttering as a child. It took him years to control it. I agree with everything you said. Still makes me angry when supposed educated civil people make fun of him for his sometimes sloppy speech. I'll pit his brains against the entire maga base any day.

The bolded is possible. MAGA had a President-supporter, so it became more ingrained. Without that, you are probably right. The referendum on MAGA is taking place as we speak, in the topic of this discussion.

LMAO, trying to recall one little bitty time since he's been an adult when he wasn't offensive! Came up with ZILCH.

I saw the opening of The Apprentice once in it's first or second year. (I worked in television news and made a point of never watching it).

I found Trump revolting, every mall store shoe salesman and/or a Johnny Carson sidekick who registered as FAKE.

I had a sense then that television was about to get a lot worse than it already was. I retired from the profession after that. And it just occurred to me this second that each successive election in the US since has been stupider and stupider with the amazing outlier of Obama.

I never knew that!

Thanks!

My favorite Prime Minister was Jean Chretien, who was born with a speech impediment. I knew him when he was a mere MP from Quebec. Over the years we became friends. He had told me his impediment was his best weapon in debate, he said, "because others think I'm stupid, then I have the advantage". Profound! He was the longest, continuous serving prime minister in history.

My impression of Joe has just changed dramatically, again.

Yeah, whatever. Enjoy your Biden pay cuts.
What pay cuts would that be exactly? I'm on SS. I just got an 8% cost of living increase as did EVERY American on SS. Have a nice day!

My pops, having immigrated from the old country, and remaining in an immigrant neighborhood where English needn't be spoken, never acquired the English language skills to communicate effectively in that language. But he was as sharp as a tack, shrewd as a fox, patient as a Saint, knew how to bide his time, and above all - knew human nature well.

Consequently, he was underestimated all his life. And quite honestly, often to his advantage such as during business negotiations, he knew how to trap opponents in a corner, before they even knew it. Think: "Columbo". I'm not sure if some of these guys even realized they'd been beaten, but instead thought that they screwed up and the "stupid guy" ....

My grandmother spoke English with a heavy accent. I learned by going shopping with her. She checked everything and always asked the price because she couldn't read, in any language. I noticed when she spoke people's expressions changed. I discovered they thought she was stupid.

I used that effectively as a reporter from the beginning. I never saw Columbo but was compared to him often, usually because of the wrinkled overcoat. I also learned a technique I call OMT, "on more thing" after you have said "that should do it" and nod to your crew to keep rolling. I later learned Columbo did that too.

PS, my user name was a nickname I got from my days at Parliament Hill. I was a major Hunter S. Thompson fan. One time Jean Chretien and I got into an heated debate about something, and when noticed. another reporter said "young Fear and Loathing doesn't have a reverse."

If the bolded will be Trump's M.O., he might be dooming himself from the get-go. I believe the greater holding of American People don't want more of this type of negative pandemonium.

The only major current nationwide serious dark negative, I believe, is inflation. If that drops (2 years is a long time), then I'm not sure what could be a nationwide serious dark negative to prosecute Biden. Yes border problem is there, but I don't see that concern as front & center outside the border states and perhaps some of the Red States.

So, how does Trump prosecute a dark negative campaign nationally? Honestly, I'm not sure he can.
- "Invading migrants"
- crime....lack of support for the blue (how he can say this one with a straight face just shows us how shameless he is) followed by
- FBI and DOJ bad (only donnie can seamlessly go from claiming that there is not enough support for the blue to beating DOJ and the FBI over the head with a sledgehammer)
- ANTIFA and BLM (need I say more)
- The ruin of the country via Socialism (we have some posters here that will really get a stiff one over this Donnie topic)
- money that can go to cleaning up the American Carnage brought to us by Progressives, Dems, Socialists (THE USUAL DONNIE SUSPECTS) instead of going to Ukraine and other globalist efforts
- Friends of CCCCCHHHHHHina destroying America

Its a tired riff but it's all donnie has.

It will be interesting to see if he sticks with his support for SS and Medicare riff at CPAC. If so that will be the "silver lining" portion of Donnie's address

Google Biden stuttering. There are too many articles and video's from credible sources to name here. I watched a special on his life at the beginning of his presidency. I'm quite sure he experienced many of the same challenges as your friend, Jean Chretein. Maybe his administration should gently remind people of this. The media touched on it lightly at the beginning. I'm sick to death of hearing ignorant people accusing him of senility. Knowledge is power, right?
