It's still a highschool popularity contest for most americans.Deegan said:Yes, in some cases they have, yet stupid Americans will continue to choose bad actors, Reagan of course being the exemption, but yes, it's a national "American Idol" contest!

Kandahar said:Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very pro-business governor. He's underrated; I think it's sad that Democrats and Republicans alike seem to hate him.
Dems hate him because he makes the dems in CA look like the Reps in the rest of the country.Kandahar said:Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very pro-business governor. He's underrated; I think it's sad that Democrats and Republicans alike seem to hate him.

Reps hate him because he's not the same as Bush. For one, he's pro-environment (even though he's got those hummers) - next he supports stem cell research. In essence? Schwarzenegger is pro-science - the anti-bush.
I think if more conservatives and liberals were joined through marriagethere'd be less of this partisanship. Hell partisan may not even exist anymore.Deegan said:He is what he is told to be, just as the Kennedy's he is married to, it's disgusting!
jfuh said:Most incumbants do win thier 2nd term. Look at congress 99% incumbancy. That's how the political landscape is today.
And at a time when incumbency rates for members of Congress top 95%, governors have borne the brunt of the wrath. In 2002, half of the statehouses changed hands. "Governors are in a very difficult spot," says American University political scientist James A. Thurber. "The buck stops with them."
Point in hand, Davis won his re-election as an incumbant, only to be outed by the special election. The election is mostly still in favor of the incumbant.RightatNYU said:
