Nice post.... This has been sitting here for two hours and I`m the FIRST to post a quote. Either people really don`t care, or they are worn out by the topic. Probably a little of both. The average expert source , laced with stats, money trends, opinions, etc. , does little to inspire, or inform,but in fact is generaly little more than money whore BS. In general it is forbiden to dialog on the true cause of the economic colapse. I won`t give my two cents worth beyond saying the money whores did this. The left will spend more. Tax and spend is what they do best... and pork is not something you can read in financial planning, it only comes fully into focus after the money is gone, then they lie or rationalize the loss. The GOP had the federal budget,"on a starvation diet", yet it grew by hundreds of billions...(1,200 billion :roll ? No, it wasn`t exactly a starvation diet, now was it, if thats the new cost of gov ?

The rhetoric of Pork and Earmarks are being used to smear a lot of very worthy local projects in the stimulus bill. The right don't even bother to itemize, they just claim (very loudly) that the entire bill is PORK.
 
Well unfortunately, most voters DON'T care. I'm hard-pressed to name a single national politician who lost his reelection due to his support of pork for his constituents.

As for the stimulus bill itself, most people claim to be against it. But so what? Do you really believe that the average voter is making an informed decision on this issue, or that they have the faintest idea of what this bill does?

Good. Smear the whole damn thing and then start over. We are not in a rush. The last rush a few months ago got us nowhere. These pork packages won't do it either.

Obama said there was no pork in the bill, but we've found tons of it and a nice little inclusion that sets Social medicine into action. Either Obama is flat out lying or he doesn't know what's in the bill.

Hopefully this doesn't get one Republican vote, it's -10 as far as Dems go... then we can pin the whole mess on Obama and his merry band of slimy Tax Cheats.
 

Local project = pork/earmark

Why should the federal government fund a local project? If it were as worthy as you claim, the state should be the one to fund it or even the community.

TRILLIONS of dollars are in the hands of someone who either loves it more than anything else on earth, and can`t get enough, or is useing it as a weapon to win world war three without fireing a shot ??? I`m not a financial expert,or analyst, financial talking head, so i can`t Bullchit you into a state of mind that will enrapture you on the topic. The money wasn`t burned, its in someones pockets. I`m guessing they designed it that way. By design, the money whore, will get more and more.

It just shows either how out of touch these guys are or how arrogant they are in their lust to spend and pork it up.

Yep...loosely speaking its either Jesus or money whoreing...! Jesus would be a reference to mankind, and a love of life,and all things good, includeing money. The latter ...,a reference to those who care only about themselves, and love nothing else, and wan`t nothing good for the human race unless there is profit in it. There really are people who live this way and they want more. I will make a promise here. Ad by ad across the country the message of pork instead of stimulus will be played out in front of the American public.

One party is porking out, the other is waiting and assembling ammunition to crush the delivery team.

This is the foundation for Republican ascendancy in 2010 and 2012. If only they espouse Conservative values and run conservative candidates.

The foundation is being built trillion by trillion of dollars.
 
If i could spend $1 million a day, since the birth of Christ/common era, it would not equal $1 trillion today.
 
Of course Shumer thinks the American people don't care about pork, in fact they love pork. But that makes perfect sense given the fact that the northeast (his American people) is liberal and home to the turkeys that got us into this financial mess.

I think as far as most people are concerned if it is unrelated spending then it is pork. If these things are that worthwhile then they should be able to stand on their own without the "Oh no the sky is going to fall if this is not passed" bill.
