School worksheet tells kidsGOP thinks helping poor 'waste of money,' parent claims | Fox News
Nothing sinister or unhealthy about subjecting your kids to today's indoctrinations at the old schoolhouse, I'm sure.
Must be common core.
Some low life " Teacher " should be losing their job immediately.
Maybe that teacher was doing exactly what he/she was told to do. Would you fire someone for that?
Ignoring for a moment one quiz in one teacher's class would never be an overall reflection of the school as a whole...is that not what Republicans are constantly saying? Oh sure, they don't use such plain terms, but are they not the ones who keep saying the government shouldn't support the poor, they need to get out and get a job and support themselves? Aren't they the ones saying the government shouldn't help the poor, it should be left up to charities?
I guess I don't understand the furor here when it's basically what Republicans have been saying for years.
Yes, she should be held responsible for her actions.
Do Democrats go around saying they want to pander to minorities and then dump them when it's politically inconvenient? No? Then your example is dumb.Perhaps the furor is missing questions.
For example, where are the questions about Liberal/Progressives pandering to minorities so they can get support in the short term, and then can abandon them later when another group needs manipulating?
They don't "say" it they just do it. :shrug:Do Democrats go around saying they want to pander to minorities and then dump them when it's politically inconvenient? No? Then your example is dumb.
Let's be real for a minute - is this surprising to anyone?
This however is a relatively easy fix by gathering parents together, go to a school board meeting and let them know their time in that position is limited unless they make immediate changes. The alternative is they will be voted out come next elections and the ALL political poison pills masquerading as a student worksheet will be removed, and incinerated with a replay available on youtube.

To make your point you should have gone with something like, "We believe the government should take more money from those who have more money, no matter how hard they might have worked for it".
Then that could serve the purpose you want. But since only 6 questions were copied from this quiz (if it's even legitimate, most of the time they are made up by conservative hacks and spread amongst the conservative propaganda websites), I cannot point to what you're asking. But I do find it funny that, instead of arguing that Republicans don't readily make comments about how the government shouldn't spend money on those who don't have it, you instead tried to deflect with a red herring.
As I said, I guess I don't get what the furor is supposed to be here.

It sure is to me!
Holy ****!
I live in a near socialist country where public sector unions have held us hostage for six decades....the teachers union in this province has the right to strike and does about every third fall if the weather is nice..
There is a legal mandate to teach gay lifestyle.
But they would never get away with that. It's outright brainwashing...but then what do I know, I am a self confessed liberal.
Please explain why you think this is common core. Then please demonstrate you have even a modicum of understanding of what common core even is.Must be common core.
But this quiz seems to be pretty clear it's referring to a preferred sense of governing, and Republicans prefer their government not to spend money on those they feel don't deserve it, which is usually poor people. And I'm not even passing judgment on the rightness or wrongness of such a position (I tend to think there's a lot of people who do deserve help and plenty who don't), but it IS a Republican/conservative position (at least for the last several years especially) that government should cut the amount of money it spends helping those who are poor.Slyfox.
1. The test's text makes it clear in other instances the difference between "government run" things and generalized notions, so simply stating that Republicans think "we should not help the poor" is not accurate. Your own post refelcts that, pointing out that even those who seemingly say the government shouldn't help in any fashion typically still support the notion of charities or others to assist the poor. Suggesting that the government shouldn't utilize tax payer funds to specifically just help "the poor" is a decidingly different comment than not wanting to help the poor in a broad general sense.
And not all communists think people who are not equal should die. But the point remains that, as a general rule, politicians within the Republican party think we waste too much money helping those who don't have money.2. What you're describing is actually not the seemingly standard view of the majority of Republicans or the Republican Party. Perhaps you can point me to something I've missed, but I rarely see conservatives/republicans suggesting we should cease any and all aid provided by the government to people or that all social safety nets must be completely and utterly removed. Indeed, some go to that strong extreme, but to suggest it's the standard view of the party is a bit ridiculous.
I agree 100%. But what I find more disconcerting is the idea this was presented to a class of 16 year olds...if this quiz is legitimate (and I always have my doubts, given how often these things turn out to be bogus), then the real disservice is such an oversimplification to a class of students who should have the mental maturity to process much deeper thoughts. Now to this issue in general...
The general balance of the questions, not to mention the gross over simplification of many things, does no student an honest service in terms of learning or understanding politicla ideologies and what their general view points are in an accurate and fairly presented fashion. However, it's hard to levy some kind of wide ranging condemnation over something based on what seems a very limited amount of information to go off of.
Whether we agree on this or not is irrelevant. Republicans SAY it. It's a position they keep. They don't "say" it they just do it.
But irrelevant. These are they types of things Republicans SAY. They make this a position.Liberal/Progressives don't need to say anything. They just do it. One small example.
I'm sorry, all I heard was "blah blah blah, I'm incapable of disproving the point, so I'm going to continue to engage in red herrings".Who is the most impacted by the massive illegal alien invasion encouraged by Liberal/Progressives? Minorities who have jobs stolen from them. Look at the unemployment rate in Black communities.
These are the same minorities Liberal/Progressives have been getting on their high horse about claiming they are the only ones trying to help them. Yea right.
So, Case closed.

Republican position is it's a waste of taxpayer money to continue to fund those who are poor.Well, first, your statement about charities taking the responsibility for helping the poor is not actually the same as saying helping the poor is a waste of money.
But you WILL find Republicans who complain helping those who are poor is a waste of money.Second, you won't find many republicans who support the abolition of state care for the needy.
No no...you missed my point. Democrats JUST DO it, then apologize later or justify the ends and ignore the means or claim it's all for the common good. Which is how that OP picture and the blatant question got there in the first place.Whether we agree on this or not is irrelevant. Republicans SAY it. It's a position they keep.
