school children abducted in nigeria

again and again!

by boko haram

Gunmen in Nigeria kidnapped more than 200 school pupils in the northern town of Kuriga on Thursday, a teacher, local councilor and parents of the missing children said, in the biggest mass abduction from a school since 2021....

"The number of the kidnapped from the secondary section based on the statistics we took together with the parents is 187 while that of the primary section is 40 for now," said Sani Abdullahi, a home economics teacher....

Kidnappings for ransom by armed men have become endemic in northern Nigeria, disrupting daily lives and keeping thousands of children from attending school.

The last major reported abduction involving school children in Kaduna was in July 2021 when gunmen took more than 150 students in a raid. The students were re-united months later with their families after they paid ransoms.

most terrible!

:(

I hope the Nigerian government kills 1% of all the children of Muslim families in Nigeria. That's an acceptable way to deal with an attack, right?

Why? Is killing children wrong? I thought it was an acceptable way to respond to terrorist kidnappings.

What happens in the Middle East isn't always applicable elsewhere in the world.

I dunno.

What should be the standard procedure when Muslims kidnap kids. It seems to be a thing with the more radical adherents of the Religion of Peace.

You should punish those responsible. It's like when the US murders civilians with drones, the drone operator and chain of command should get the death sentence, not every serving member.

Some animals are less equal than others? Thanks Orwell.

No, not really. Just that normal rules of humanity don't seem to apply where you are clearly referencing.

Those girls have been kidnapped in Nigeria and people will try and get them back. The Nigerian Govt won't go killing 40,000 people to rescue them or lay starvation siege to any Nigerian / Book Haram strongholds to get the girls back.

Nor does it have to. BH tends to run to villages and rural areas. There is no such thing as rural Gaza. You're fighting in one of the most congested urban environments in the world.

Lack of incentive to wipe out or starve whole populations is still relevant though.

If you want to make a case about the congested urban environments, it's worth seriously considering why Hamas were in position to build up their fighting capacity and why the more peaceable Palestinian Authority was hampered by the relevant Govt who had no interest in peace.

Nobody in Nigeria seeks to gain politically by allowing Boko Haram to kidnap vast numbers of innocent children.

Boko Haram should get an invite to a tire fire party.
