If CNN is good enough for mbig, it's good enough for me.I dont watch CNN.
Looks like it's already a war.Could become a direct war soon enough.
US is providing air support for Iranian troops fighting ISIS in Tikrit. I don't see how the US can fight against Iran in Yemen and support them in Iraq. That's just too confusing. So, maybe that's why the US pulled out of Yemen and let the Saudi's and their coalition move in?

Yeeeaaahhh I suppose you could word it that way. It was the Iraqi government that requested US airstrikes.
This world-wide Sunni/Shia civil war certainly had its fire stoked by Maliki.
I don't put it on either of the last two Presidents--blame is useless--**** happens.
At least the new guy in Afghanistan looks much better than his predecessor .
Yup, the US basically supported a corrupt government and the 2011 civil war started when the president tried to amend the constitution to have his son inherit the presidency- the government then proceeded to brutalize the south and suppressed dissent while America looked the other way and then it now backfired. When you ally with scumbags like that you can expect trouble and its finally happened. In Yemen, the embattled government has cooperated in the U.S. fight against terrorism.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-pres...pokesperson-bernadette-meehan-situation-yemenWe strongly urge the Houthis to halt immediately their destabilizing military actions and return to negotiations as part of the political dialogue. The international community has spoken clearly through the UN Security Council and in other fora that the violent takeover of Yemen by an armed faction is unacceptable and that a legitimate political transition – long sought by the Yemeni people – can be accomplished only through political negotiations and a consensus agreement among all of the parties.

I dont know that SA will be able to sustain operations in Yemen, its heavily armed, and all mountainous. Egypt had its Vietnam there in the 1960's.
Imagine if Reagan would have knocked out Gaddafi--but he couldn't.Policies advanced by both the present and former president have made this possible.
This wouldn't be happening were Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad still in control.
Imagine if Reagan would have knocked out Gaddafi--but he couldn't.
I've noticed you making this case tonight.
Better the devils you know right?
Looks like we haven't learned how to Nation build after regime change .
So now that its clear we are aiding SA, any thoughts on how the nuke talks with Iran are going to turn out?
Ordinarily, I might mention that diverting to the nuke talks is one of yer classic derails.
I'm sure we'll hear more about the nuke talks next week when Benedict Boehner visits "I really didn't mean it" Bibi.
My greatest fear is the 24/7 GOP undermining of Obama on the World stage and the ramifications.
Imagine how Romney might be dealing with all of this--with foreign policy "experts" from Bush/Cheney--like Bolton.
And Senator "bomb--bomb--Iran" fully in charge of many more wars.
We really do have two separate governments in the nation right now--and yer party can't agree with itself on much of anything--as we saw with DHS .
I wasn't asking for a political answer. Iran wont make a deal-why would they if we are helping to attack their proxies?
Trying to combine the discussion of the Yemen war with the Iran talks is a political ploy on yer part .
Imagine if Reagan would have knocked out Gaddafi--but he couldn't.

All brought to you by the Bushwhacking chicken**** chichenhawks from last decade.
Republicans are for taking responsibility as an election message.
Not so much in real life don't you think ?
Irrelevant - have anything on topic to discuss? Perhaps you think the Yemen success is a model to use going forward.... please tell me all about it.

Just as had been the case with Bahrain, it appears that Saudi Arabia and neighboring states may have drawn a line on preventing Shia movements from toppling governments in adjacent states. The Gulf Cooperation Council's military intervention to quash a Shia uprising in Bahrain very likely deprived Iran from gaining an ability to blockade the Persian Gulf, a development that could have facilitated Iran's drive for regional hegemony. Whether or not Saudi Arabia and its regional alies send ground forces into Yemen to restore order after using air power to degrade the Houthi militants remains to be seen. If they do, not only will such a development hold the possibility of strengthening regional stability, but it could also signal a new more assertive national security doctrine on the part of Saudi Arabia and its regional allies.
