I feel like a real sucker. I wrote an article in December stating that I thought "Sarah Barracuda" had a shot at being the GOP Presidential 2012 candidate based on the fact, what I thought at the time, that she was a true conservative. However, it appears that I was wrong. And it didn't take long either:

The Neocons may now be out of power, but that is not stopping them from trying as hard as they can to stay alive. As long as the GOP keeps them at arm's length, it will be fine. However, failing that, the Republican party will be saddled once again with an albatross that will take them down.

Is there supposed to be some video or article attached? I can't see anything...

Why do you liberals start so many threads on palin?

I am not a liberal.

And you are not aware of the reason behind the joke. There are people who complain about all the liberals starting threads on Palin, even though conservatives make alot of them. So whenever a conservative makes a Palin thread, I use that line.

What is a "neo-con" and where does one draw the line at being one? Supporting anything related to Neo-Con by some talking heads estimation?

And whom would you prefer in 2012?

Who thought she was a "true" anything? She's a moronic skank who doesn't even have her own views. Electing her will be like electing the entire GOP to office, since it'll be easy for them to manipulate her into doing whatever the GOP wants. She wont have any of her own views, she'll just be a puppet ruler. Paris Hilton would make a better POTUS (or at least she couldn't be much worse anyway).

BTW, oh God this "lady" is just ****ing retarded!

Palin said that if the President to remain popular enough in 2012 to win a second term, he would need to declare war on Iran.

BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! It doesn't matter if she's for real or not (and I don't think she is), anyone who'd say that is completely retarded.

She made a very valid point. One that was far too deep for you to understand. American's don't trade President's in a time of war. But I guess you're still stuck on the MSM's opinion... I hope you aren't too distraught when she's in the WH in 2013.

A Neo-Con is not a person who has true conservative values. Values that include smaller govt, sensible economics, not meddling in other country's affairs by sending the majority of our troops 8,000 miles away while leaving our own borders vulnerable both to foreign militaries and illegal immigrants.

When Palin voiced her opinion of the importance of attacking Iran, regardless of how important talk show pundits claim it to be, that was the crack in the door that allowed me to peek in and see all of the signs of neoconservatism I needed. Please don't be duped by these liberals who paint all conservatives with the broad Neo-Con brush. Just being a conservative does not necessarily make one a Neo-Con.

Who would I prefer in 2012? Someone who has a proven conservative, pro-constitutional track record. Texas is off to a good start with Debra Medina in the running, for example. I realize that is a statewide election and not a national one. But hopefully someone will rise to the occasion over the next year.

Peace

Sarah Palin is the GOP's only hope in 2012. They'd be fools not to nominate her.

I agree with you. Conservatives I think have a point and very good opinions on some issues. Neo-Cons just have to go, our country can't take any more of them.

With how good the right is at running smear campaigns and sticking to the talking points, if the democrats in charge don't turn this ship around and start actually giving their base something to cheer about and start racking up some accomplishments then the GOP might actually have a great chance in my book.

Neo Cons are statists who strongly support foreign intervention, use of military power to promote the country they are in, interests.

They tend to support big government, big military, strong police forces, and generally a more authrotarian government domestically. They will support the use of the media to promote propaganda to the general population, although on a covert basiss

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservatism"]Neo-Conservative[/ame]

Neoconservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States of America, and which supports using American economic and military power to bring liberalism, democracy, and human rights to other countries.Consequently the term is chiefly applicable to certain Americans and their strong supporters. In economics, unlike traditionalist conservatives, neoconservatives are generally comfortable with a welfare state; and, while rhetorically supportive of free markets, they are willing to interfere for overriding social purposes.

The label gets whored around a lot by people that don't know what it means.

It primarily refers to fiscal and social moderates that are FP/NS hawks.

Good article on the roots and description

Or not so covert in the case of Fox News.

Well said post!

Sorry you are disillusioned. Sarah is all things to all conservative voters. She plays every angle, hitting the Tea Party one weekend then touching base with neo-cons the next.

Speaking of hope......how's that working for you? :2razz:

Quite fine, thank you. Things are far from perfect, but I'm happy that our country is not in the moral and economic bankruptcy that it was teetering on. Thanks for asking.

Debra Medina... the truther lady? No thanks.

Palin has a point, Iran IS going after a bomb, and those sicko's will use nukes if they get them. You are a coward sir, a dyed in the wool coward, an isolationist that ignores the lessons of history.

WWII, imagine if the powers that were stood up to Hitler, instead of pursuing "Peace for our time".

Of course, what do you care? It's only Israel that's at risk right?

Smear Campaigns? The GOP treated Obama with Kid gloves while the left was merciless in attacking Palin and McCain... what world do you reside in?
