COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Senate on Tuesday formally approved a bill removing the Confederate battle flag from the Statehouse grounds, where it has flown either atop the Capitol or on a nearby flagpole for 54 years.
The Senate, which had voted overwhelmingly in favor of the move Monday following hours of debate, sent the bill to the House. The bill could be taken up almost immediately -- or technical delays could push back the House debate as late as Friday.
In other news, Paramount Pictures has announced it will release a new version of Raiders of the Lost Ark in which all the swastikas are digitally removed.
I didn't know that Paramount Pictures was flying the Nazi flag over the capital of a US state.
I think it's the right move, but even as a supporter of getting the confederate flag out-of-government, I'm pretty blown away with the speed at which the anti-flag sentiment is sweeping the country.
But then, things sometimes go like that: an issue festers until near critical mass is hit, then some catalyst event occurs, and BAM!
For reference, N.B. France & the Colonies, in 1789 & 1776 respectively!
Only cowards and PC mavens wish for that flag to be removed.

Pretty quiet up in this thread. I wonder where the defenders of the state's legislative progress went?
Grrr LEGISLATIVE ACTIVISM
Right, because a fictional film set in a period where Nazis were around is totally the same thing as flying a swastika over a government building!
