The danger from Russian spy drones over Germany is growing, exposing a serious security gap.
They are being launched not only from land but also from the sea. Yet it remains unclear who
is actually responsible for tackling the threat: the Bundeswehr, the police, or other authorities.
Russian spy drones targeting German critical infrastructure have escalated from surveillance
flights to potential ship-based operations, with authorities seizing a suspected espionage vessel
amid hundreds of drone incursions recorded since the start of the year.

Have to give credit to the US when China flew spy balloons over the US that got shot down (there had been several flights beforehand) and Germany certainly has the equipment to track and destroy these drones easily.
Seems like the hold-up is all about whose job it is and what internal bureaucratic hurdles need to be completed. Meanwhile, Russia uses these flights to try and predict which routes arms and support for Ukraine will take and what those materials and equipment are.
The "Air Security Act" that was started previously lapsed but there is a slightly comical element to this. Come on Germany, get your act together and just shoot some damned Russian drones down in your airspace!
