Russia now claims the USSR still legally exists.

The Afghan army threw down their arms as soon as they were not going to be paid by America. They were only in it for the money. Afghanistan was the one that was humiliated. It has been their destiny for centuries. One can only hope that someday they will enter the 21st century.
Gee, sounds like America failed pathetically to convince anyone in Afghanistan a pro American regime was still worth fighting for. Nobody wanted to die for a fanatically racist regime like the US which didn’t see the Afghans as anything but second class citizens in their own country.

The US stabbing the Afghans who did feel enough loyalty to flee in the back on further proves that point.

NO. P. didn't invade Ukraine in 2022 because Donbass is not Ukraine

There have been numerous missiles strikes on the Capitol. Kiev is not near Donbass. Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odessa have been bombed and attacked. Those regions are in the west. These attacks included hospitals and orphanages, power plants and civilians. This is not a war of self determination. This is a war of conquest. Putin believes Ukraine should be returned to the USSR.

Crimea was annexed to Russia. It's not a nation state. I believe that ethnic Russians have a legitimate claim to independence or sovereignty. I believe self determination is our best option. But that's not what Putin wants. He has attacked strategic regions throughout Ukraine to destroy their infrastructure and morale. That's not a war of self determination, that's a war of conquest.

Putin has no reverence for human lives. If Putin cares about Russians, why has he sent that many to their death.

Putin invaded and attacked Ukraine in 2022.

The US brought Afghans a govt. that offered unparalleled freedom and opportunity for millions of women and the men too. It is a shame they did not want to fight for that. But not as much of a shame that Russians and Ukrainians have suffered so much from a Madman dictator who loves death.

The U.S. brought the Afghans a corrupt government utterly subservient to Washington. As it turned out, nobody was interesting in continuing to fight for that regime any longer, and the “opportunities” the U.S. supposedly offered were totally hollow.

Correct. Putin is a "madman" but unfortunately what that means, why it happens, & solutions is not yet understood or well researched. That matters since something in human society creates Putins, Hitlers, Napoleons etc. that are the greatest danger to humanity. One author wrote something to the effect that all the criminal violence in the world is insignificant compared to group violence. So how this guy became a Hitler & what to do about it is important.

This would have NEVER HAPPENED if Joe Biden were still President.

I'm just saying..........

You're saying that Putin "became a Hitler"?
