Russia’s Gazprom Halts Gas Supplies to Poland, Bulgaria

If they have no means to convert the euros or dollars into rubles because of sanctions, and they have no ability to use those euros or dollars because of sanctions, then they're not actually getting paid.

In what universe does it make sense for them to continue to provide gas and oil?
Actually Euros and Dollars are incredibly valuable for Russia. They need foreign currency to pay for their import. The countries selling goods to Russia don't want worthless rubles.

A new gas pipeline from Azerbaijan supplying Bulgaria and Greece will come online sometime in June.

This isn't what I asked you. I asked you if you believed that Russia would continue to provide gas and oil if they're not getting paid for it?

Of course they rely on gas and oil to fund the war.
Russia relies on gas and oil to fund her economy; 45% of her economy is reliant on energy exports.

Russia is just a gas and oil station.

It's also a bread basket, along with Ukraine. There's growing concern about the price of wheats and other staples. Food inflation is what leads to regime overthrows and civil wars.

It also fuelled WW2 with Germany virtually starving and inflation rampant because of draconian Allied blockades and reparation demands post WW1. The effects of the Versailles treaty and its aftermath was the perfect breeding ground for Hitler and the Nazis.

Except the Roubles are not worthless. And when Mercedes or BMW sells to Russia it is not as an act of mercy to Russians, they are making good money. And if they lose Russian customers it will be to the gain of other sellers. Germany has not been successful so far from following stupid, bonehead economic policies. Scholz has warned time after time what catastrophe lies ahead if hysterics continue prevailing

No Western government, investment house, bond market, or stock index wants Russian rubles.

They are only liquid in Russia and inflation will soon make the ruble ripe for devaluation.

It is difficult getting around Russia's energy blackmail.

The sanctions came first remember and equate to economic warfare/blackmail.

What mystifies me is why Europen nations never imagined they would find themselves in this position?

Maybe they stupidly thought the US wouldn't initiate a proxy war with Russia using Ukrainians as the cannon fodder. Now they will be over a barrel to the US wrt gas and oil, I wonder what will be worse for them.

More Putin propaganda.

More Putin propaganda.

Why do you feel the need to follow me around the forum spouting junk as you go? Are you not capable of anything else?

Except that Mercs and BMWs are not sold in Russia right now with both companies having even withdrawn their production in Russia herself, along with makers of a helluva lot more things that are far more important to Russian economy and particularly its energy and military sectors.

A policy that will hardly find reversal as long a Putin sits at his bombastic table.

A currency only holds value if someone is prepared to sell in exchange for it. Something that not even India (let alone China) can currently be seen as being.

If propaganda had no effect whatsoever, those spouting it wouldn't bother.

So all that one can do is hold any and all publications (from all sides) up against the available facts.

It is an undeniable fact that Russia has been invaded Ukraine since 2014, is killing civilians there by the score, is laying waste to whole cities and is pursuing a reign of terror that includes rape and downright murder. That is by now verifiable and can't be put down to Western propaganda, certainly not solely.

If, on the other hand, such crap is spouted as in post # 33, namely that this war was started by the US, one need search no further for anyone having stupidly fallen for propaganda and revealing himself to be as subsequently stupid as his post indicates.

The dogged pursuit in all other posts of that narrative only serving to underline the apparent stupidity.

Unless, that is, all of it is simply a manifestation of the ever observable dishonesty one has become accustomed to from such source.

Whichever of the two this all might be fades in importance, in light of both behaviors being equally despicable.

initiate a proxy war with Russia

“Initiate” a proxy war with Russia.
You still don’t know who “initiated” this war, do you. One and ONLY ONE person. Why are you so afraid of saying his name?

The first fighting started after the US , in cahoots with the Ukrainian far right, piggy backed a popular protest movement so as to initiate a coup to overthrow the democratically elected govt of Ukraine. If you cannot accept that as the start of the Ukrainian civil war and the involvement of Russia in a military capacity it's because you are the one lost to propaganda.

This type of action is just another example of the US foreign meddling in the elections/political life of other sovereign nations that has been going on for decades all over the globe.

No, get some arguments that offer something to actually discuss and respond to the content of the post you reply to. I don't see you offering anything like a refutation.

.......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand welcome once again to the bullshit chapter.

OW2 spreading it around in the usual perpetuity and deluding himself into the belief of actually making an impact.

Don't see you refuting anything.

bullshit requires no refuting, it does it all by itself.

It wasn't the "far right" rising up against their President cuddling up to Putin.

Weak, but that's what your analysis is anyhow imo. That's of course away from the constant lying/misrepresentations etc

The far right piggy backed the popular EU protests that were the heart of the Maidan movement. If you haven't gotten at least that far into the story after all of this time there's not much hope for you imo
