Rush, Is this the end?

DCP disciples are truly sick sheeple.
Limbaugh is a pill-popping conservative hypocrite. He should have spent the last years of his life in prison for his actions.
Rush Limbaugh, radio talk show host. Arrested on charges of committing fraud to buy prescription painkillers in 2006. Settled with prosecutors and continued his successful career.

While all of this may be circumstantial, it certainly makes Limbaugh's actions consistent with American/conservative sex tourists (see end of the article), even those who exploit children. What caused me to write this Diary, though, was Limbaugh's remarks yesterday, April 19, wherein he blamed the Oklahoma City bombing on, and railed against, Bill Clinton and Janet Reno for the raid on the Branch Dividian compound in 1993 without ever mentioning that it's freak leader, David Koresh, was, according to multiple accounts, a proud, unabashed child molester/rapist.
.

So, then, Limbaugh's a hard core, holier-than-thou conservative, just like the politicians and preachers who have practiced all sorts of wrongful and/or otherwise sordid sex acts. He travels to the Dominican Republic -- without question a sex tourist destination -- with Viagra. He's an apologist for child molester and cult leader David Koresh. Does this mean Limbaugh sexually exploits anyone, especially children? No. Is it consistent with a deviant who does? It seems that way to me. I don't know for sure, though. Wish Limbaugh would stop avoiding the subject, though.

Nothing makes me more happy then to see Rush get the administration he always wanted and then to watch it fail so magnificently. Its to bad he took alot of poor, uneducated folk down a very dark path with him.
Yes, Rush was the pied piper of the ignorant.

I hate cancer and it will likely be my demise, as it has been for my sister, father, grandfather, grandmother aunts, and uncles, but I will not shed a single tear when Rush Limbaugh takes his last breath because of how he lived and what he chose to do with his life.
I'm putting my money on heart disease. It's less trouble, especially if it hits me in my sleep.

I'd prefer a heart attack in my sleep. Cancer forces you to linger longer. I support the right to euthanasia.

I have seen cancer take a father, two sisters and a niece. It's a horrific death. While I don't wish him any suffering he is just one of many who die from this terrible disease. His " fame" doesn't warrant him any more sympathy , thoughts or prayers than all the millions who suffer the same fate.

As Rush gasps his last breaths, let's explore what the man stood for.
Rush hates women who have bigger balls than him. OK, I guess I can get that. He's jealous.
What about blacks who are smarter than him?

"Magic Negro"? Hmm...well, we all knew the POS was racist. After all. ESPN had to fire him back in the 90's.

Ok, he hates women and blacks. How's his patriotism?
Ah...so, Rush is a neo-confederate. No surprise there. And, what has this racist, misogynist lowbrow anti-American moron accomplished?

Well...
“Simple, really. The ditto-head audience relies on Limbaugh the same way that a drunk uses a lamp post or the way a fundamentalist zealot relies on Scripture: not for illumination but rather for something to lean on.
Yes, he props up the zombies, the brainless followers of things like Trumpism.
I think it’s more useful to understand him instead as a form of religious experience, one of the more dogmatic strain. He’s a completely reliable inspiration and reinforcement for those who are embittered and battered and who confuse their natural allies for their enemies. He’s an electronic opiate for the masses.

Hell of a legacy he's got there.

Do you also feel that way about obese people, smokers, drug users and criminals?
Choices have repercussions, so I agree with you!

From what I hear, he is more convinced he was right from the start.
So he and Hitler will go to their graves with that in common. I guess that's something to be proud of, within his circle of influence.

This is Bizarro world stuff. Limbaugh was always a champion of the forgotten.
Rush was always the champion of "forgotten" white men, specifically those with high levels of cultural resentment, racial bigotry and religious fear. Rush CLEARLY was NEVER a champion for all of the "forgotten". His entire schtick was based upon blaming non-whites, non-conservatives and non-males (i.e. minorities, "liberals" and women) for any/all of the difficulties or failures of white men in our society.

And, quite frankly, the very idea that Rush's "forgotten" followers are victims at all....was always absurd to the point of being offensive.

But I can understand why his fans might consider those people to be "THE FORGOTTEN". They (you?) really believe that white conservatives are "victims" in America, and thus the only people who really matter.

For divisive Zucker and Zuckerburg put him to shame.
:ROFLMAO:....Zucker? As in CEO of CNN? That's just dumb.

And what does Zuckerberg have to do with Rush's legacy one of the very worst racists and misogynistic demagogues in the history of this country?

Nice side step.
:ROFLMAO:....says the guy who just accused (above) two Jewish businessmen (including the CEO of CNN) of fomenting more hate and divisiveness than Rush Limbaugh.

Please, spare me that nonsense.

Rush will be remembered as a virulent bigot and a demagogue. And rightly so. That's really not arguable.

Expressing sympathy for someone going through the end-stages of a battle with cancer is just decency. Even Rush Limbaugh is a human being. And, who knows, he might be more honest, and repentant in his private life than is public. It's hard to believe that very many people can be that repugnant and evil in public.....AND also proud of it when the lights/mic go off (in private). I think when Rush goes to bed at night, he privately asks for some sort of forgiveness.

He was a champion of those bullied by the media and cancel culture. He was just an arrogant jerk about it.
Nonsense.

Again, Rush only championed angry white bigots. HIs game was White Victimhood and White Grievance. He was, quite literally, the race-baiter of all race-baiters.

His problem wasn't that he was an "arrogant jerk". His problem was that he was a lying demagogue and a repugnant bigot who trafficked in (and profited immensely from) falsehoods, half-truths, racial tropes and conspiracy theories.

Do you also feel that way about obese people, smokers, drug users and criminals?

Rush Limbaugh knew what he was doing politically caused problems but it was profitable for him. He was a drug user and blamed others for the same thing that he did instead of admitting that h had a problem and getting help. He took part in sex tourism, which might be the ultimate evil. I likely would not shed a tear for his passing, no matter how violent.

Obesity seems to be genetically linked. Smokers and drug users are different because it is an addiction that we do not treat well.

Criminals knew what they were doing was wrong but didn't care, so I have no remorse for them, but I still oppose the death penalty.

I never did get into listening to Rush. Now I did find Mark Levin years ago while doing a radio scan.... It paused on this guy going off big time on Obama... I was hooked lol

I had a battle with Stage 4 cancer throughout much of 2019. While I believe Rush has caused a tremendous amount of harm to this country and believe society will be better without his toxic influence, I take no joy in his suffering. It's pretty brutal stuff to go through.
Pretty much this. Of course when he is gone all the other hosts will scramble to be the most deplorable to get his hate addicted audience.

This article is pretty informative

Rush Limbaugh is ailing. And so is the conservative talk-radio industry. (msn.com)

Turns out the only people who listen to AM radio are over 65. A lot of young people don't even know AM radio exists.

Rush says he has 25 million listeners but experts put his audience at 5 million regular listeners and 15 million who tune in at least once per week.

Mainstream brands stopped advertising on the show long ago so the show doesn't make a lot of money.

The opinion people on Fox, Hannity, the other guy are going to inherit Rush's audience.

.
My friends in the radio industry call AM "Ancient Modulation".

I do nearly all of my radio listening over my Alexa device (NPR and Podcasts), there just isn't anything local to listen to that is intelligent or compelling.

I haven't turned on my car radio since 2017. Radio is a wasteland these days.

My car has HD radio, if you can find a good HD station, the audio quality is superb. I have friends that run a great online radio station, good music from 70's to now, lots of forgotten cuts by big groups, and a lot of new acts. www.radiofreephoenix.com

You can be genetically inclined to be overweight, Obesity is a choice, or lack of control or lack of willpower but it is still a choice. Smoking and drugs were both choices when YOU (not you specifically) started using them, alcohol is the same. They are all no different than the criminals.

Everyone has REASONS, and some reasons people give make others more or less sympathetic, but it was all a choice on their part FIRST.

I love HD radio for the various NPR channels, plus 2 local stations that have HD sub-broadcasts. I wish that there was a way to listen to HD on a phone. I haven't listened to an AM station since the early 1980s. It's either talk(hate) radio, sports, or religious nuttery.

Smoking drugs and overeating are often symptoms of depression or an anxiety disorder as a way to self-medicate with nicotine, food, or alcohol. I caught myself stress eating and got help from my Dr.

Why do people stress eat?

Some research suggests a gender difference in stress-coping behavior, with women being more likely to turn to food and men to alcohol or smoking. And a Finnish study that included over 5,000 men and women showed that obesity was associated with stress-related eating in women but not in men.

Harvard researchers have reported that stress from work and other sorts of problems correlates with weight gain, but only in those who were overweight at the beginning of the study period. One theory is that overweight people have elevated insulin levels, and stress-related weight gain is more likely to occur in the presence of high insulin.

How much cortisol people produce in response to stress may also factor into the stress–weight gain equation. In 2007, British researchers designed an ingenious study that showed that people who responded to stress with high cortisol levels in an experimental setting were more likely to snack in response to daily hassles in their regular lives than low-cortisol responders.

When you're stressed, eating can seem like just the thing to quell your emotions—whether you're feeling boredom, loneliness, depression, or even anxiety. Problem is, stress eating is hard to stop, and that can lead to overeating. If you're trying to maintain your weight, stress eating makes it harder.

Stress unleashes the hormone cortisol, and eating actually does make you feel better—at least for a little while. “Food can give us the same type of reward and pleasure that even drugs will,” Melissa Majumdar, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, tells Health. Munching can also serve as a distraction from whatever’s stressing you out.

:ROFLMAO:.....REWIND....PRESS "PLAY":

"....says the guy who just accused two Jewish businessmen (including the CEO of CNN) of fomenting more hate and divisiveness than Rush Limbaugh."

Your comment, above, leaves me with only two assumptions:
  1. -you are a white-grievance type who believes criticism of you or those who share your values....is "bigotry".
  2. -you were looking in the mirror when you typed this
Sorry, but anyone....ANYONE....who defends Rush Limbaugh against accusations of racial/religous bigotry.....is either very ignorant, or a bigot himself. The former could be a matter of opinion, the latter is not. You are what you appear to be.

But hey, keep defending vulgar, hateful white nationalists like Rush Limbaugh. One day, you'll get to meet him, I'm sure.

Especially the CEO of CNN.

Are you telling me that you don't think CNN is a primary source of division in this country?

I see you failed logic.

The white-grievance is non-sequitur, for example. The second is simple projection.

Categorical statements about whole groups of people is is characteristic of bigots. See, for example, the statement just quoted.
