Rush going back on the road...

Was never a Rush fan. AND I have attended plenty of concerts featuring old time bands (I have tickets for Foreigner next month) BUT............ usually when these rockers get around my age, they have lost their voice, they do the hits but not much of a stage show, and the volume is turned up so high as to disguise that fact that they are missing notes.

Last time I saw Foreigner that was indeed the case.....and I loved that band.

One band that kept it sound was Bachman Turner Overdrive....

I had the dishonor of seeing Nazareth a few years back, and half the audience left, it was an outdoor concert and you could NOT catch one word of the lyrics and there was absolutely NO stage show, I could have put on an album by them and had better listening pleasure.

You went VOLUNTARILY to a Nazareth concert?

Rush in their heyday was at a time when I was a teen, and I totally hated them. Then a weird thing happened about 10 years ago; I started listening to a radio station that played Rush fairly often and grew to dig them. They're certainly not ear candy but that is what makes their music so interesting. I grew to appreciate their amazing sound, musicianship and creativity.

Discovered them about the time Signals came out. No one like them. Saw them back around 2000 or so.

Edit: whoops, mean Presto.

Sorry, nerve wracking noise, despite my loving old rock bands.

Then maybe I won't be too disappointed. The cost of the tickets though..........................
Guess see with new singer. Hansen was done last year.

But yeah, good seats ain't cheap to anything anymore.
Cooper and Preist Saturday cost me $160 a peice. About 35-40 feet from stage.

She's pretty damn good. Can see her style fitting into the role.

They are not making new music -- just touring the old stuff. But I do see your point -- who can replace Neil (a GOAT) on drums?
Very unique lyricist too. I would be scared to death to do a concert and play Tom Sawyer on drums - everyone is going to watching to see if they screw up.

What I would be there for. Not sure if this would make the setlist though. Great instrumental.

No one really; but I'd guess Danny Carey would have been honored to sit in.
