This is big news. I know that are a few big-time Rush fans here at DP.

No...Why do they insist on torturing Canadians?
Retire already.
Favorite band. Said they were done. But I'll be awaiting the schedule. Better make it near here!
Big shoes to fill; we shall see!
No...
Was never a Rush fan. AND I have attended plenty of concerts featuring old time bands (I have tickets for Foreigner next month) BUT............ usually when these rockers get around my age, they have lost their voice, they do the hits but not much of a stage show, and the volume is turned up so high as to disguise that fact that they are missing notes.
I had the dishonor of seeing Nazareth a few years back, and half the audience left, it was an outdoor concert and you could NOT catch one word of the lyrics and there was absolutely NO stage show, I could have put on an album by them and had better listening pleasure.Last time I saw Foreigner that was indeed the case.....and I loved that band.
One band that kept it sound was Bachman Turner Overdrive....

Saw Foreigner last year. Weren't bad.Was never a Rush fan. Rush in their heyday was at a time when I was a teen, and I totally hated them. Then a weird thing happened about 10 years ago; I started listening to a radio station that played Rush fairly often and grew to dig them. They're certainly not ear candy but that is what makes their music so interesting. I grew to appreciate their amazing sound, musicianship and creativity. Was never a Rush fan. Huh???Leonard Cohen recoils in his grave.
They destroyed the reputation of the Toronto music scene...
Discovered them about the time Signals came out. No one like them. Saw them back around 2000 or so.Rush in their heyday was at a time when I was a teen, and I totally hated them. Then maybe I won't be too disappointed. The cost of the tickets though..........................Saw Foreigner last year. Weren't bad.
Sorry, nerve wracking noise, despite my loving old rock bands.Rush in their heyday was at a time when I was a teen, and I totally hated them. Guess see with new singer. Hansen was done last year. Then maybe I won't be too disappointed. The cost of the tickets though..........................
They are not making new music -- just touring the old stuff. But I do see your point -- who can replace Neil (a GOAT) on drums?I don't know how it would be possible to make new music without Neil Peart
Very unique lyricist too. I would be scared to death to do a concert and play Tom Sawyer on drums - everyone is going to watching to see if they screw up.They are not making new music -- just touring the old stuff. But I do see your point -- who can replace Neil (a GOAT) on drums?
What I would be there for. Not sure if this would make the setlist though. Great instrumental. They are not making new music -- just touring the old stuff.
No one really; but I'd guess Danny Carey would have been honored to sit in.But I do see your point -- who can replace Neil (a GOAT) on drums?
