Rule One of Catching a Liar

Trump is simply throwing lies at the wall and hoping one sticks. The next one will likely be that firing Comey was all "Obamas fault".

I can't tell if his supporters actually believe his BS, or if they are simply doing the pack thing and defending their own, knowing that he is a lying POS.

Trump lies as easily as he breathes, but his fans never notice or if they notice they wave it off. Comparisons that pop up between Trump and Hitler (the greatest liar of the last century) are mistaken. There's no Hitler in Trump, yet. Trump is still only an authoritarian bumbler, as the Comey farce wonderfully demonstrates. The comparison to be made is between his followers and the Germans who initially enabled Hitler. Weak-mindedness, like moths drawn to a flame, is the common thread.
Their nationalism, willingness to ignore protocol, desire for an authoritarian leader to "save us" and the gradual erosion of our checks and balances in favor of one-party loyalty are very much like Germany in 1930's. As people of color become more numerous, and as the whites feel more threatened by them, a real Hitler may actually come to power here. That is the real threat I see from the behavior of Trump supporters.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess.

Facts aren't opinion. And the fact is, Trump can't stop lying. From big things to little things. He can't stop.

It's a free country, at least for now, until the excessive PC's force it not to be.

What were you were saying again about this being a free country for now?

The ONLY real question is of the "Trumpeters" actually believe the bull**** that they put out. If they really do, we are in more trouble than I thought.

They do believe it. They believe it because they are completely controlled in a manner where they believe news is "fake" and breitbart, WND and Fox and their shadows are the only things to be trusted.

This is been gone through before and you keep posting it so obviously you just don't care about being honest. Obama apologized for saying that stuff trying to compare Obama to Trump is like trying to compare icky stuff to good stuff doesn't work

If he knew it was false when he said it, why'd he say it in the first place?

Comparing 'icky stuff' to 'good stuff' is based on one's opinion of what's 'icky' and what's 'good'.

Trump is pretty bad. It's not the ones pointing it out who are the problem. The problem is those who are ignoring their duty to the country.

Donald Trump?s Craven Republican Enablers - The New Yorker

I believe that TDS (Trump Delusional Syndrome) is what his "loyal subjects" suffer from. The inability to differentiate from actual atmospheric precipitation and Trump urinating down their collective legs.

While there may be people whom describe as 'loyal subjects', far more the case, I think, it is people who are fed up with the status quo of government and political parties, that Trump is a flawed messenger of a far more supported message from the electorate.

He was easy to mock. He spoke in simple platitudes without the cadence of a trained politician. His words sounded more like a truck driver than a lawyer. He spoke of making America great again. And oh, how he was mocked.

The intelligentsia of both major parties wrote him off as a buffoon and a clown. The establishment media from the New York Times and Washington Post was merciless in its editorials and opinion pages as were more conservative outlets such as National Review and The Weekly Standard.

The scorn for the leader of the movement was only matched by contempt for his followers. Major news networks compared his large rallies to fascist gatherings. Whole cable networks spent entire newscasts belittling his supporters and the leader of the Democratic Party, his opponent Hillary Clinton, branded his fans, “a basket of deplorables."
. . . .
A raw American nationalism, dedicated to rebuilding not only a depleted manufacturing base but also committed to renewing American cities, improving decrepit infrastructure and looking out for American workers. Trump's message is more than the man delivering it.
Trump: Powerful message more important than flawed messenger | TheHill

. . . his overall campaign message that the entire political system is rigged against average Americans is the reason he is still in this race despite his horrible personal behavior and outrageous statements. Even though he is a deeply flawed messenger and not up to the job of being president, his message has resonated with millions of Americans who will still be angry and seeking change after Election Day.

For years, I and many others have been warning that American democracy is under threat because our political institutions have become so dysfunctional and our nation so polarized, and because so many millions of independent voters are shut out of the system. This election has revealed it is actually far worse than we believed.

Trump’s political rise did not happen in a vacuum. The seeds of voter discontent that he is exploiting have been sown over several decades of elected officials failing to work together to address the biggest issues facing this nation. That Trump managed to win the nomination and get this far is proof of how dissatisfied so many Americans are with our political leaders.

Flawed as Trump is, he is something that the vast majority of politicians are not, and never have been: he appears to be genuine. He also appears to be delivering the electorate's message.

Meh. Whatever. As you walk away from a direct and pertinent comparison, in favor of bashing Trump a bit more.

How quickly and / or how selective memory asserts itself. Have we already forgotten about:

Rosen recounted, in an interview with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, the battle he had with the Obama administration over his reporting on North Korea where he was eventually investigated by the Department of Justice.

“Literally, in writing declared me an enemy of the state by designating me as a criminal co-conspirator in an alleged violation of the Espionage Act. That was done in a secret FBI search warrant application submitted to and accepted and approved by a federal judge. Attorney General Holder later acknowledged that he personally signed off on that document and he later identified it as the greatest regret of his tenure. Nothing that we’ve seen so far from the Trump administration, at least yet, rises to that level of seriousness or nature in terms of any kind of attack or assault on the press.”

Victim of Obama Administration Surveillance Order, James Rosen, Discusses His Experiences, says Trump Wiretape 'Plausible'

WASHINGTON (AP) - Government officials requested to know the identities of more than 1,900 Americans whose information was swept up in National Security Agency surveillance programs last year, according to a newly-released intelligence report.

The identities of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents were found in 3,914 intelligence reports the NSA distributed last year, said the report released Tuesday. The annual report comes just weeks after President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama's national security adviser of possibly committing a crime when she asked government analysts to disclose the names of Trump associates documented in intelligence reports.

Most names in such intelligence reports are masked to protect privacy, but last year government officials requested that 1,934 identities - not initially revealed in the NSA reports - be unmasked in order to understand the intelligence being conveyed. In 2015, government officials requested the unmasking of 2,232 identities.

Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, has said that neither she nor other Obama officials used secret intelligence reports to spy on Trump associates for political purposes. Rice's official role would have given her the ability to request that names be revealed for national security purposes.

I think that questioning the freedom of the electorate is a legitimate concern, given the Obama administration's track record.

who said he knew it was false when he said it? you just have to come to grips with the facts that trump is a slime ball.

And you have to come to grips that Obama is one as well then.

lol... I brought you stories that actually happened. And you reply with a link to some fringe source quoting a guy saying something didn't happen, but it plausible. Pretty much sums up the sturdiness of the ground you trumpettes are standing on these days.

You can try and deny if you wish, but that doesn't alter the facts. The Obama administration did investigate the press when they didn't like what they were reporting, and the Obama administration needless put US citizens right to privacy, previously protected by the process of 'minimization', by unmasking them, i.e. using national intelligence agencies not only against the electorate but also against an opposition political presidential candidate and campaign.

It would be foolish would be to ignore these things that were actually done.
