Well, you have the right to express that opinion. I'll grant you that.Let's cut to the chase, most of those people were acting like a mob of dickwits at the Jefferson Memorial to draw the attention they got. In my humble opinion, they were directionless losers pissing away 1st Amendment Rights for no good reason. There are many great reasons but acting like a gaggle of assclowns is not one of them.

Is not acting like a gaggle of assclowns protected by the first Amendment? The WBC for example?

these people were protesting a new law that forbade dancing in front of the monument. they did so by dancing. the law is against freedom of expression and the police brutality and the arrests against all democratic decency.
I think I've done just that on a high school field trip a few years ago. Don't get what the big deal is.

There is a whole discussion on this in the Law and Order Forum.RT presenter choked by police — RT
police brutality and arrests took place in Washington DC as police brutally cracked down on a crowd of people for dancing by a Washinton DC memorial...
a new victory for American style democracy and free speech and expression..

Wrong. They were protesting a U.S. Court of Appeals decision that UPHELD a BAN on dancing and other forms of protests INSIDE the monuments.
The police were not brutal. There was nothing brutal about the way the police handled the situation.

Do you think police should uphold laws, that could be clearly defined as unconstitutional?
Yes? did you even see the full video? by European standards at least, those police reactions are overly brutal in arresting people who arent even resisting. if they were resisting with violence those police reactions would not be brutal, but protestors used no violence.
in the end the police even chased out the media...eace

Well, The Ban had to go through District, Superior, and to the U.S. Court of Appeals... I don't understand how you think it could STILL be defined as unconstitutional after going through three levels of court systems to determine that very question.
It's a public space.
The view of the courts is immaterial, this is a clear violation of a persons rights.
Which they aren't supposed to be able to do.
I think the same of the tea party movement.. should we brutally crack down on them as well? freedom of speech in the US is becoming freedom of speech limited. we certainly have more freedom of speech and expression in Europe 2011 than you have in the US.
So, its your opinion that public places can be used for the people for whatever purpose that they want?
Hey everyone, bring your booze and lightsticks we are having a rave at the white house...
