I don't know about you, but where I live and have been, mobs are rare. But if you want to look for trouble, you may eventually find it.
A major accident that completely shuts down a highway going in a particular direction amounts to the same thing. Most of us have likely been there before, and all you can do is stay put right where you are until the authorities either open a lane or facilitate a detour that allows the backed-up vehicles to reverse direction. Been there and done that. But if you see a mob and stubbornly continue driving on into and through it to find yourself surrounded. Sorry, but that's on you. You had a choice and you made a poor choice.

I would assume that if you are surrounded, it will be because you chose to continue into them instead of turning around at the first opportunity to do so.

IDK how many videos I can show you where innocent people drove into situations they had no idea would turn into a dangerous mob situation, but here is one. What should this lady have done exactly???? I can show you MANY more. Or would you like to just friggin learn something today and look for yourself?

When large protests go awry, they tend to do so in the heart of downtown Chicago, where escape is not really possible if you're in a car and surrounded.

There's also random mobs/takeovers that commonly occur in downtown Chicago and the South Loop. Have you ever been caught in the middle of one of those? They typically will just start beating on people and even if CPD is nearby, they sometimes won't do anything about it.



I'm clearly talking about when you cannot see the mob ahead and I showed you a clear example of where people would be trapped and unable to turn around. Blaming drivers for.....driving on roads is really ****ing silly.

And I didn't even go into the fact that we have a complete moron of a mayor, probably the worst in the country, who routinely allows criminal takeovers like this to occur without intervention.

Yep, @Atomic Kid made it clear that the only way people get surrounded by a violent mob is to see them down the road and CHOOSE to drive right into them. There must be no corners or tall buildings in his town, where the mobs just stand there waiting to be driven into. It's wild stuff!

If you believe people expressing their First Amendment rights by blocking a street, that in itself causes no harm to anyone, are fair game because you're simply being inconvenienced by it is a very stupid belief.

I don't think they are fare game it's just inevitable and I take a little schadenfreude when they get their just desserts.
 
We aren't talking about Chicago here. No government official in Chicago has advocated for such a policy. Can you try harder to keep the focus where it belongs here? And like I said before, such incidents are rare. How about you? Have you ever driven headlong into an active demonstration? If so, why would you do something so stupid as that? Can you always see a major accident ahead? No, you almost always learn about them after they have happened, when the traffic starts backing up, and maybe when the radio later tells you what's happening. And there isn't a thing you can do about it until the authorities find and establish a route to go around it. Until then, you're stuck and have no choice but to accept it. Nothing different. But to continue to try to plow ahead through a crowd of protesters is just silly. It's just stupid and recklessly dangerous. You're just digging the hole even deeper. So what if you're late getting to where you are going? What's the big deal?
