First I have no desire to align myself with where DeSantis seems to be trolling with this.

However I have to point out one thing from a legal perspective. The 2017 ruling about driving a vehicle INTO a group of protesters is NOT the same thing as driving OUT of a group of protesters IF those protesters are a definitive threat to your life or threatening mayhem.

Example: If your vehicle got surrounded in a protest by nine people pinning you on all sides and three of them in front of you proceeded to light molotov cocktails and indicate they were going to firebomb your vehicle with you in it; I doubt you'd find a prosecutor who would bring charges against you for running those three over to escape to protect your life and your passengers. IF one did, I doubt a jury would convict you.

Just pointing out that there is a difference. We can't harm others because we don't like what they stand for or they make us scared. We are allowed, when we can absolutely articulate within a reasonable man standard the case for preservation of self, the right to save our own lives or the lives of innocent third parties.

Yep. This is the distinction. If a person is fleeing, this is completely different than if a person put themself there with intent.
