This is painful to watch. A Democrat in the FL state government asks this dude during his confirmation hearing a simple question -- Is the COVID vaccine effective or not?

Ron Desantis' pathetic stooge of a surgeon general nominee refused to give a simple Yes/No answer.

All of the FL Democrats in the room then get up and leave the confirmation hearing.

This is how insane the Republican Party has become. God help us if they take over Congress again next year.

They have plenty of vaccinated vs un vaccinated studies now to show it lowers you chance of death to that of getting struck by lightning.

Nobody can see results with one person, you might have not gotten a bad case anyway, but overall, in a large group, the numbers of serious Covid infections shows it does help.

If Floridians care about their government changing voting laws to keep Republicans in office, loading sides to get guys like this as their general, and flipping off the CDC, then I hope they get out in droves to vote regardless of the difficulty. You do realize if it reduces your chance of catching it by X%, as long as that's not 100%, you could still get it individually right?

Some doctors would say yes. That without being vaccinated the odds are a person would have worse reaction to covid.

(A friend of mine came down with covid and was fully vaccinated and boosted. They also have an underlying health issue. Doctors told them that without the vaccine they would have most likely would have been put on a ventilator. My friend is at home and is almost fully recovered.

I've tested positive twice since then with no symptoms.
