I'm a function over form guy myself.
I just received my current copy of "Rifleshooter" Magazine in the mail. Guess what was on the cover? A beautiful SINGLE SHOT rifle. It has a nicely blued barrel and receiver with a real wood stock and forearm. What a pleasant change from the ugly black plastic truck axle semi auto that are so now in vogue.

whats' funny is that you claim you like shooting certain kind of firearms but you appear unable to understand that other people enjoy shooting other kinds of firearms: firearms you are on record wanting to ban
Very astute of you. And your point is?
Joe
you pretend you like shooting but you want to deny others the same pleasure because you don't like the guns they choose, have you ever figured out that lots of gun banners would just as soon ban the guns you claim to own as the ones you say are not something people ought to be able to own
you are on record for punitive taxes on ammo to
seems to me you don't even understand what you are wanting
It seems to me that YOU don't understand what I am wanting.
Joe
lets see
you want to ban the most popular centerfire rifles in the USA
you think honest gun owners cannot be trusted after 9 rounds in their guns
you want people to pay exorbitant taxes on ammo
you want people to have to wait to buy a gun
You want guns registered
you basically are a gun banner
You now pretty much have all that correct, except that I am not a "gun banner," whatever that means. That seems to be a term that you invented which is indicative of someone who has a junior high mentality. True, however, some firearms should be banned out of pure ugliness if nothing else. Even John Browning, that prolific gun inventor of the early 20th Century, when in around 1929, he invented the Superposed Over/Under shotgun, saw the dangers and the unnecessary function of his Auto-5 shotgun. He thought, even back then that it might be banned, so he was prepared to stay in the gun manufacturing business by inverting a new double. BTW, the Superposed was much prettier than the Auto-5.

Racist!

Are you serious? The first thing you agreed to him having pretty much all correct starts with "you want to ban"
How dense are you?
lots of people who want to ban tons of firearms pretend they aren't gun banners because they have yet to publicly call for banning all firearms
BTW, I thought a "gun banner" was a cloth or vinyl sign that a store or gun shop would use to hang in their store to advertise a certain gun.

I have no real need for guns today since I don't actively shoot, but I've collected a few over the years and have always loved classic looking pieces with wooden stocks, nice bluing, and checkering & engraving. I suppose I look at them as functioning retro objects of art, of sorts.I just received my current copy of "Rifleshooter" Magazine in the mail. Guess what was on the cover? Well if you threw a frog into boiling water...
OOH! I am "on record!" Wow, I'm scared. Most people on this section of the forum are pretty much the school yard bully type and get their kicks out of ganging up on one person, not listening to what they are really saying, taking what they say out of context, and are so blinded by their own prejudices and political leanings that they can never see things any other
way. Yes, I have been a serious competitor and I don't really care what a firearm looks like, other than those ugly black (ok, so some of them are grey or green) plastic semi autos. Turtle said he has never seen a serious competitor who felt as I do. Well, he has not seen me, but he has read what I have written so that will have to do. I am not alone in my thinking, as my life partner sees things the same way as do many others I shoot with. I used to see things the same way as you all did, then one day I came to my senses. I doubt if any of you will. As Hemingway said, "God rest ye merry gentlemen."

Good to know, too bad you did not include a picture of it. Guns come in all types, each has their own purposes and some see beauty where others do not. To each their own, you own what you want and I will do the same, thankfully the Bill of Rights provides for both of us to do so and will continue to.I just received my current copy of "Rifleshooter" Magazine in the mail. What type of rifle is it?
Yeah, I wish he'd posted it. I went the site and can't find the issue cover picture.
But the Ruger is a beauty:
