And a man who couldn't even remember the name of the agency, yet wanted it eliminated.
 
Mr. Perry is an outstanding choice for Energy. Hopefully, Mr. Perry can fulfill his promise and get rid of this extraneous department or at least cut it by 90%.

I certainly he knows about molten salt thorium reactors. We need thousands of them.

I've always thought of Rick Perry as the maximum dumbass and he reminds me of GWBush. Same thing goes for Fiorina. She damn near bankrupted Hewlett Packard. Worst CEO ever. OTOH, maybe Perry can eliminate the Energy Dept. It's just a bunch of good ol' boys protecting the status quo of Big Energy.
 
Rick Perry proved to be a very effective leader in the different state positions he has held.
I see no reason to think he would be less effective as energy secretary.
There is quite a bit of room for a person with vision to optimize the operation,
Perry will have at his disposal the best and brightest minds in the energy industry.

I don't say this as a specific endorsement of Perry, but yes... a person who doesn't share the institutional pride and self-importance of a cabinet department is the perfect person to run one.

Yeah, but then again, it looked to you like there was NO WAY that Trump could win, then when he did you disappeared for a week or so....So, sorry if we don't care what it looks like to you.
 
This pick follow the theme of most of Trump's picks...
Demonstrate gross incompetence until a consensus grows that government is ineffective and/or superfluous.

It's just the GOP's continuation of the Grover Norquist strategy:

"I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub."

Trump doesn't want these departments to function, and so he is picking the most dysfunctional leaders to steer them.
 
I like it this choice for energy. On another plus side: Another person more qualified to be President than the President-elect.

I can see you wanting it cut completely but why 90%? I don't even believe it would constitute as an agency. And if so why even pay Perry to do the job?

Don't listen to him. He's one of the many that thinks getting rid of an entire Department or severely gutting it actually accomplishes much of anything.

A proactive Dept of Energy is a good thing. It just needs to be directed on how it can be the most supportive.
