RFK Jr., HHS to Link Autism to Tylenol Use in Pregnancy and Folate Deficiencies

or just a disagreement on the policy.

I suspect you hated Obama, Biden, and Clinton when they were President. I'm I right?
I had issues with and disliked Obama, Biden, and Clinton, however I did not hate them. I am not the hating type. However since you mention disagreements in policy, I will mention that both Obama and Bill Clinton vocally expressed support for some of Trump's policies, at least until they became Trump policies. For instance:

It is great fun watching conservatives get baffled by the concept that a thinking adult would change their policy positions when presented with newer evidence and different circumstances.

Having only one policy that exists uniformly without context or nuance is how an insane person thinks.

Very pathetic attempt at deflection. A president is either for illegal immigration or against it. Nothing changed between Clinton 1992 and 2016 other than more and more illegal immigration at least until Trump addressed it.

  • 6 foot social distancing wasn't based on any science, but yet, it somehow ended up as a recommendation.
Social distancing - staying further apart from one another - when there is a droplet borne pathogen circulating is actually common sense if one understands pathology of viruses.

  • Claims were made that wearing a mask would stop the spread of COVID, it did not, this because the COVID virus particles are far smaller than the pores on the mask, anyone with common sense would see and know that.
Masks weren’t designed to stop you from inhaling Covid, the point of wearing them was to minimize the amount of mucus etc that a person could expel by coughing, etc into an environment.

If one was concerned with inhalation and protecting themselves by wearing a mask - they would have needed to be wearing a properly fitted n95 or respirator.

  • Claims were made that getting the COVID vaccine would keep you from getting COVID, that turned out not to be true.
COVID vaccines seem to be about as effective as flu vaccines. Disappointing, but I also don’t think scientists appreciated just how quickly COVID would mutate.

But 🤷‍♀️ vaccine science remains sound when you appreciate the difference between dealing with a pathogen such as influenza or Covid vs. a pathogen such as measles.

  • Claims were made that once vaccinated, you couldn't spread COVID, that also turned out not to be true.
Unfortunately, government tries to relay information to the general public in a manner that a largely dumb population can understand.

Science often gets lost in translation.
  • Mandates that young school aged children needed to have the vaccine, when they were the least affected, and the smallest population segment being infected.
There were NEVER any mandates regarding school aged children on any large level. Perhaps at individual private schools, but not at any state or federal level.
The bureaucracy pretty much whiffed on all of these.
Oh, we completely failed at Covid. Starting at the top with Trump in down.
The dirtiest secret, still being avoided, was that the majority of COVID deaths were from people over 65 who had additional health problems, this under played in favor of a universal or near universal mandate.
How was this ever a “secret”? It wasn’t. From pretty much ground zero of NJ - it was apparent that the impacts on the elderly were significant.
So, yeah, there's little of the the entrenched government health bureaucracy's performance and behavior which should be considered as 'acceptable'.

Hopefully the next time a virus pandemic spreads, the lessons learned will be remembered, that's about all we can hope for at this point.
I have no hope for the US if there’s ever another pandemic. It is quite apparent that way too many people are completely selfish and also think they’re smart when they aren’t.

My only hope is that whatever comes next is more deadly and quickly wipes them out.

🤷‍♀️

Having lived through COVID and the lies, distortions, fabrications from the entrenched government health bureaucracy, they've lost a great deal of trust from me.
I see RFK as being a fresh set of eyes and fresh set of ideas colliding with and conflicting with that entrenched bureaucracy, which hasn't been shaken up in eons, and is in dire need of it.
Who knows was President in 2020 again?

the use of "hate" is overplayed.

Can someone disagree with Trump without "hating" him?
Sure. Do you disagree about this:

Considering the Tylenol risk had been reported long before now its hard to understand why someone would act like this is a new claim other than hating Trump.

To me, it's cruel to run the KNOWN risk of inducing birth defects by telling women it's okay not to treat high fevers during pregnancy.
That's not what the guidance from HHS stated.
And that's exactly what trump and rfkjr are doing: in exchange for a still-hypothetical hunch that Tylenol use during pregnancy might be linked to autism, these two non-medical persons are telling women that they should take the documented risk of delivering children with birth defects by not taking Tylenol when they have high fevers.

It boils down to this:

Tylenol use during a high fever reduces or most likely reduces the risk of birth defects vs Tylenol use during a high fever might increase the risk of autism.
Second, HHS will act on acetaminophen. Today, the FDA will issue a physician notice and begin the process to initiate a safety label change for acetaminophen (Tylenol and similar products). HHS will launch a nationwide public service campaign to inform families and protect public health.

The FDA is responding to prior clinical and laboratory studies that suggest a potential association between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. FDA also recognizes that there are contrary studies showing no association and that there can be risks for untreated fever in pregnancy, both for the mother and fetus.

Given the conflicting literature and lack of clear causal evidence, HHS wants to encourage clinicians to exercise their best judgment in use of acetaminophen for fevers and pain in pregnancy by prescribing the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration when treatment is required. Furthermore, FDA recognizes that acetaminophen is often the only tool for fevers and pain in pregnancy, as other alternatives (e.g., NSAIDs) have well documented adverse effects. FDA is partnering with manufacturers to update labeling and drive new research to safeguard mothers, children, and families.

Very pathetic attempt at deflection, since you forget that amnesty is a thing. Which republicans used to support!

I really do not give a **** what republicans used to support. I have never favored amnesty for illegal immigrants, even when President Reagan signed onto it (He later regretted doing so). I am okay with Trumps option for illegals to self deport and then maintain the ability to at some point return going through the legal route.

I am sorry you can’t discern the difference in policy and enactment of policy.

It must be really difficult to walk around daily in society unable to discern such dramatically different things.

This means you hate America since we need as much labor as possible if we hope to compete with China or India in the long term.

The CCP agrees with you to keep America isolated and bigoted. You are doing them a huge favor.

Nothing coherent in that rant to respond to. Have a nice day.

And yet the rabid vaxers will still defend those obvious lies even now after they have been exposed.

back to the topic.
imo, RFK jr. is using a minority report to support his stance. More research is needed.
Oh wait, Trump and others are cutting medical research.

Sure. Do you disagree about this:

there you go again, making judgements about others.

Did the paper RFK jr. used state the cause was Tylenol for autism? Let me help you out, the paper did not.
Did RFK jr. address that fever in a pregnant women can put the fetus at risk? no really
Did RFK jr state that tylenol is prescribed by many doctors to reduce the fever and it is prefered over other meds.

Basically, it is wise to consult your doctor before taking any medications.
