Someone needs to bring back the Twilight Zone series. There is easily enough content for a few new episodes a week. It would be an instant hit.

You have no idea of the legacy vaccine of the 50's. The first vaccine given to the polio pioneers, of which I was one, have a live virus . It did have a lot of side effects including high fevers, but it came in three shots and was highly effective. Later they developed a vaccine with ad dead virus that was effective but has required boosters. After that they developed the oral vaccine because children were afraid of the needles used. IN those days they reused and even sharpened needles. Needless to say it was not fun to get shots. So they have continued to update the polio vaccine. Since RFK has said that no vaccine is good or effective, I do not think he was talking about any single for of the vaccine.

He is supported by millions of crazed anti-vacers who see vaccination as government control of their children. Today's anti-vaxers have never seen a child starting to choke to death with whooping cough, or die of diphtheria's fever or catch polio and spend most of their lives living in an iron lung or hobbling in leg braces. Parents used to fight to get their children vaccinated against the polio virus. Now they are fighting to keep their children from getting the vaccine. We are living in insane times.

I don't know how serious RFK is about pushing through laws to severely restrict or even ban the use of some, most or all of these vaccines. He talks out of both sides of his mouth, which is the Republicans' preferred way of speaking these days. But I can guess that if polio makes a resurgence again like it did in the early part of last century before the vaccinations came out many of these rabid anti-vaxxers will end up crippled with their legs in braces or worse, in an iron lung--they or their children. And it would be poetic justice for them to have to live with the knowledge that they put a loved one in it with their crazy beliefs. I got the Sabin polio vaccine back in the 50's. It was a sugar cube with the vaccine in it. I mean how dangerous can a goddamned sugar cube be? I echo your sentiments. This asshole Aaron Siri who works for RFK has to be off his f*cking rocker like his boss.

It's always been bizarre and dangerous.

The only difference is that he's now willing to lie about what he'll do if he's appointed. It's not like he feels any shame about, or will face any consequences for, blatantly misleading Congress during approval hearings. (Assuming Dear Leader doesn't just bypass Senate review anyway.)
