“Hunters and fishers are the best conservationists . Hunting, whether it be with a firearm or bow, is one of the most effective ways to control wildlife populations, protect our beautiful lands, and connect with nature. My Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act is critical for our children.” - Rep. Mark Green (R-TN)

“The Department of Education and Secretary Cardona are blatantly misconstruing the law to withhold funding from schools that choose to teach beneficial courses like hunter safety and archery. Congress must hold Secretary Cardona and the department accountable for violating the letter and spirit of the law to unilaterally deny America’s students access to these valuable programs as part of the Administration’s continued attacks on the Second Amendment,” - Lawrence Keane/ senior V.P. of the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

“The Biden administration’s misinterpretation of these provisions has jeopardized educational enrichment programs like hunting and archery, which play a critical role in our next generation’s development and well-being . This legislation would ensure these programs remain available in schools across the nation, and I urge the Senate to pass it as soon as possible.” - Senator John Cornyn

Finally. Biden is exposed. There is no path to victory for this profoundly incompetent president.

Wrong, crime is at an all time low

The violent crime rate in 2023 was at a 50 year low.

Maybe he's just talking about his state?

Seems he's bitching about our deficit but yet, wants money for school programs?

Full of sh++. Lying about crime statistics, turning the criminals loose on the streets, and reducing how you classify crimes, does'n't make it go away. The left is corrupt as hell and full of shi=.

Fake news, too bad, I don't need an explanation.

Federal funding for specific school courses? Is that what the GOP is advocating these days?
Geez. What's wrong with you guys?

@SkyChief

I'm not certain what you wish to happen with this. Biden signed the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act into law over six months ago.
Just pointing out how incompetent and intellectually feeble Joe Biden is.

Joe is not running the show - his handlers are. And clearly, they are nearly as incompetent as he is.

Just letting some toothpaste out of the tube. 🙂

Wow - - what a remarkably lame non-argument.

Thanks, though.
That's what your article is about. Funding for a specific school course. It's in the first sentence...

"The Biden Administration sought to block government funding for school shooting courses, such as hunting and archery, but the House voted against it this week by a landslide."

You think the Feds should be that involved in school curicculums? When did conservatives start to advocate that kind of federal government involvement?

Finally. Biden is exposed. There is no path to victory for this profoundly incompetent president.
Trump is overexposed. There is no path to victory for that unrepentant recidivist criminal fraud.

Trump?

Oh dear. 😆

You performed exactly as expected.

Thanks. 🙂

Just pointing out how incompetent and intellectually feeble Joe Biden is.

The language of the original law was poorly worded. It was clarified in a new bill, passed Congress, and Biden signed it.

I thought that's how things were actually supposed to work – but I'm sure that reflects poorly on Biden somehow.

Reality check to a sleepy man? I don't recall Biden falling asleep in the courtroom. ;)

The violent crime rate in 2023 was at a 50 year low.

Not trying to be snarky, I’m actually curious. Do you have a link for this? I’d love to see.

Also, to be fair, the twitter comment spoke of “crime” and you’re only speaking of a single category of crime. Would it not be more accurate to look at crime stats as a whole when someone is talking about crime as a whole?

I was just thinking about how Sleepy Donald Trump fell asleep in court today. I hope his handlers can get him to bed soon. Low Energy Don needs to sleep more after these tiring days sitting in chairs, walking to and from a car, and being humiliated by Woke Dark Brandon.

He does seem fatigued, doesn't he? That perpetual scowl on his face must be exhausting. I've heard that frowning takes much more energy than smiling does.

The conspiracy threads are that a way ➡️

Indeed. He often seems quite Sleepy these days. The cognitive decline must be taking its toll and contributing to his exhaustion. It might be best that he focus on getting some rest and leave the campaigning and national leadership to High Energy people like Woke Dark Brandon.

Crime on the Decline

Murders likely fell at record speed last year.

The surge in violence left some experts worried that the U.S. might be entering another era of high crime, similar to that of the 1960s through the ’90s.
But the data over the past year has offered a much more optimistic picture. The number of murders in U.S. cities fell by more than 12 percent — which would be the biggest national decline on record. The spike that started in 2020 now looks more like a blip, and the murder rate is lower than it was during the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. The recent data also suggests that the violent-crime rate in 2023 was near its lowest level in more than 50 years, as Jeff Asher, a crime analyst, wrote for his newsletter.

America’s Peace Wave

Sky-high violent-crime rates of recent years have suddenly—mercifully—plummeted.
In 2023, murder rates in the United States dropped at an astonishing rate, probably among the highest on record. That’s according to data gathered by Jeff Asher, an independent criminologist, from cities with publicly available numbers. In the sample of 175 cities, murder is down by an average of almost 13 percent this year.

And it’s not just murder. FBI data for the third quarter show that every category of crime except for motor-vehicle theft is down, some of them sharply, year over year from 2022.

Most people think the U.S. crime rate is rising. They're wrong.

Almost 80 percent of Americans, and 92 percent of Republicans, think crime has gone up. It actually fell in 2023. An expert blames a familiar culprit for the mistaken impression.
Murder plummeted in the United States in 2023 at one of the fastest rates of decline ever recorded, Asher found, and every category of major crime except auto theft declined.

Yet 92% of Republicans, 78% of independents and 58% of Democrats believe crime is rising, the Gallup survey shows.https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/people-think-crime-rate-up-actually-down-rcna129585

Crime is rising. Simply denying it, or failing to make arrest, to charge a crime, to put criminals on trial, or to incarcerate is just ways to hide it. The left is OK with crime. They embrace the criminals as victims and are more than willing to defend the criminal as an innocent.

To hear the latest version of Donald Trump’s “American carnage” narrative of a country lost without him, you would think law-abiding citizens are cowering in their homes or stockpiling weapons to deal with a massive crime wave that’s due to illegal border crossings caused by various nations emptying their prisons and by leftist “Soros-funded” prosecutors gleefully opening our own penitentiaries. The idea of an ongoing crime wave is incorporated into all sorts of MAGA rhetoric, including claims that prosecutors pursuing cases against Trump in New York, Atlanta, Florida, and Washington, D.C., should instead be frantically trying and jailing predators who are cavorting on the streets.

But graphic, horrifying anecdotal evidence does not an actual crime wave make. And the more we learn about what’s actually happening in our major cities, the clearer it is that the surge in violent crime that did occur during the COVID-19 pandemic continues to subside.

You're being lied to.....by a liar. Nobody is surprised.

If teaching children the safe use of guns is actually reducing their likelihood of misusing a gun (and that's an "if") then shouldn't we be teaching the safe use of alcohol too?

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
